I started leaving calm (then less calm) comments on every ad, every tweet and yes, LinkedIn posts too — they were quick to delete anything critical, which made me more stubborn. The odd thing is, once people could see the fuss, their internal team suddenly "looked into it" and a refund showed up a few weeks later. So the positive bit? Persistence actually worked — annoying, but it worked. The whole experience felt like fighting a very small, awkward bureaucracy, and I'm relieved to have my money back. Will I back a crowdfunded gadget like that again? Probably very cautiously. But, for what it's worth: if you need it urgently (I did), be loud and don't give up.
Charged then cancelled
I was halfway through thinking I’d bagged a bargain when my card got charged straight away — receipt landed in my inbox, all neat. A few days later an email turned up saying the Blink solar panel wasn’t available for delivery to the UK and was sold out. Strange thing was the website still let you place the order for UK delivery even after that email. They refunded me, but deducted the currency conversion, which is the annoying part. That sequence — charged, availability revoked, partial refund — left me sceptical. I’ve had cleaner dealings elsewhere, but to be fair the refund was processed promptly. Still, I’ll be more cautious next time.
Mostly positive, with a proper snag
the service has potential and the buying flow is good, but their stock handling and refunds need tightening. I'd use them again, but only if I was prepared for a possible delay and to follow up on money matters. Small imperfections, but overall not a lost cause.
Little victory after a messy run-around
I was mid-way through planning the camera layout for the new place (can’t hardwire the doorbell, long story) and I picked those battery extenders because they were the only sensible option on the site. Ordered in March, then the order got cancelled — website still said UK delivery was fine though — and that was frustrating. They suggested holding my payment and shipping later, which I declined; felt awkward, so I asked for a refund. A few weeks later I got an email offering 10% off and saying the packs were available. That looked promising, but then it turned out they weren’t shipping to the UK at all. Communication was vague and, honestly, felt misleading. So not great. The moment I knew I’d be OK was when the refund finally cleared and the alternative kit I ordered locally arrived the day after; it isn’t perfect (a couple of fiddly connectors), but it does the job and saves me reinstalling everything. In the end I’m relieved rather than impressed — the company could have handled the clues and emails better, but I got what I needed in the end.
