Halfway through my second mug I remembered I was cautious at first — the flavour was a bit odd, a bit earthy, but it grew on me. Delivery was surprisingly prompt and customer service replied quick when I asked. I drink it every morning, sometimes afternoon; trying to keep it to two.

Halfway through the mug I noticed it’s smooth but not dramatically different from what I buy down the road. The crema and body are pleasant, little citrus hint, and, well, not mind-blowing. I do like that they look after growers and are transparent, so overall a modest upgrade rather than a revelation.
A proper morning find
I remember the exact morning — bleary-eyed, sat at my kitchen table — when I took my first sip and thought, wow, this is proper coffee. Been drinking it most mornings since, while answering emails and ferrying the kids out the door. It's creamy, with a gentle honey sweetness, not cloying. Quietly brilliant Honduran cup
this is proper Honduran coffee — naturally sweet, complex and doesn’t need milk or sugar. I came to that conclusion pretty quickly after the first brew and I’ve stuck with it. I first spotted Spirit Animal online while chasing a memory from my childhood and, on a whim, ordered a bag and sent one each to my brothers Tony and Tim; we tasted it together on our usual Sunday call. It’s a medium roast, but don’t be fooled — a finer grind brings out a deeper, more robust character. It’s got those high-altitude, shade-grown notes I remember from Dad’s old Blue Room deliveries in Honduras, and you can tell it’s recently roasted: brightness, subtle acidity, and a kind of clean, natural sweetness that makes you not want to mess with it. I drink a lot of coffee — more than I probably should — and this one still keeps giving little flavour shifts cup after cup, so it’s not tiring. Delivery was quick too, which helps; fresh roast to doorstep matters. Minor gripe: I found the grind suggested a touch inconsistent for my espresso machine, but that’s on me for not asking about grind size before ordering. Overall, recommended — I even tipped a mate at work who’s picky about beans and he’s come back asking where I got it. Solid, dependable, interesting without being fussy.
