I booked this because I was moving and my back started up, so I needed somewhere easy to get into and rest. The place was as advertised, clean and with a decent view. Biggest plus was the delivery and check-in — they arrived on time, handed keys and explained things. Customer service answered quickly when I phoned. A couple small issues, but overall pretty solid.
Bright flat, parking drama but worth it
I’ll be honest, I hesitated before booking — worried it’d be one of those glossy photos that lie. We drove down to Lisbon in spring and, walking into the flat, that worry melted pretty quickly. It’s bright, the beds are actually comfy (not a concrete slab), sheets and towels were clean, and the little kitchen does the job for breakfasts and a lazy pasta night. Check‑in was dead easy thanks to clear instructions and the hosts replied fast when I messaged — proper helpful. The first evening we did the usual parking shuffle and, yes, finding a space in daylight was a bit of an ordeal, but by late evening it calmed down and there’s a cheap car park at the nearby supermarket if you don’t fancy creaking round the streets. The centre’s about 15 minutes by car, Sintra or Cascais are doable day trips. The area is lively in daytime with traffic, quieter at night. Not perfect — a bit of daytime noise and we had one slow kettle — but overall a chilled, comfortable stay. Would book again.
Strange stay, left after one night
not because of a single annoyance, but because the place felt unsafe and the paperwork was dodgy. Two days before arrival I was asked to sign an extra contract that wasn’t on the booking page. Basically it switched me from a “tourist” to a “seasonal tenant” — sounds technical, but what it meant in practice was losing the usual protections you’d expect. That alone made me uneasy.
The thing that worried me most was the electrics. I was trying to do normal stuff — heat the place, run hot water, and chuck a load in the washing machine — and the sockets started tripping. The manager even wrote to me saying the installation was undersized and asked me to “manage” how I used appliances to avoid a fire. I mean, manage? That’s not a fix, and I wasn’t going to sleep with that hanging over me. So yeah, electrical hazard is the detail I can’t stop thinking about.
On top of that the flat looked worse than the photos: damp patches, cracked paint, mould in the washing machine drum, a gas pipe that looked exposed. Small plus: it was right by a decent little bakery and the morning light on the balcony was unexpectedly nice — that surprised me and made leaving a bit harder, because the area itself wasn’t bad. I tried to get support from GuestReady and Booking, showed them photos and video, but they effectively treated the booking as still active and didn’t refund me. I reported everything to the authorities.
If you’re considering a longer stay here, just check the licence type and don’t ignore electrical signs. I left for safety — felt like the sensible, if irritating, choice.
