A neighbour mentioned Anker and that’s where I first looked. The F3000 feels solid and straightforward to use, no messing about. We paired it with the 400W folding panel, though our garden in Utah is heavily shaded, so it only pulls roughly 180W. Bit limiting, but honestly expected.
Backup power without the fuss
I hesitated because our last power bank barely handled a phone, never mind the freezer. We needed something reliable after a few local outages. The C2000 arrived safely and paired fine with my portable solar panel. It is a bit hefty, obviously, but charging was straightforward and it gives us proper peace of mind.
Heater test settled it
By the time it arrived, the snow had mostly passed, so there was no actual power cut to deal with. I’d been unsure whether it would manage a space heater, as smaller units I’d tried hadn’t. I tested it that evening and it ran the heater for several hours without fuss. Glad I took the chance; it’s reassuring to have.
The box had gone on a diet
My mate tipped me off after spotting the bundle online, so I took the plunge. The moment I opened the parcel and found one component, I knew something was off. After spending thousands, waiting another two weeks feels like ordering a full English and getting one lonely sausage. Still no proper answer.
It did the job, eventually
I needed a reliable backup battery after a previous one gave up during a move. The point I knew this one was alright was when it kept my kit running without fuss. Delivery was quick. Slightly odd that the main battery has to reach 100% before the spare charges, though. Doesn’t seem ideal for battery life.
Faster than I expected
Funny thing is, I only looked at it after a mate mentioned it during a camping chat. I was a bit unsure as it’s my first portable solar battery, and I still haven’t tried the panel. The moment I knew I’d made the right choice was seeing it charge far quicker than expected, then checking the app without any faff. It shows the remaining power clearly. Not perfect to judge yet, but for what I paid on Anker’s site, it feels a proper bargain.
Still not working as it should
Honestly, I’m pretty disappointed overall. A colleague first mentioned the products to me, and I thought they would be straightforward to set up together. They haven’t been. I’ve checked back through my orders and seem to have everything needed, but the system still isn’t working properly. What made it more frustrating was getting different answers from the automated help, customer service and the phone team. Everyone was polite enough, but no one could give me one clear explanation. There may be a simple fix, but I’ve spent a fair bit already and I’m still stuck, which is disappointing.
Bit wary at first, but actually chuffed
I first saw one at a mate’s weekend getaway and shrugged it off, but after a long think I tipped my brother to give it a go. I was sceptical — slow replies from support and a silly warranty hiccup had me annoyed (loads of emails, ugh) — yet once the unit finally showed up it felt properly solid. Heft to it, good build, comfy handle, ports that don’t feel flimsy and it runs my laptop and a small fridge all evening with room to spare. It’s quieter than I expected and the app is straightforward. Still, don’t expect rapid customer service, but the actual product use? Pleasantly impressed.
