I was a bit sceptical ordering a 100A charge controller, a 2000W inverter, panel cables and an MC4 tool — seemed like a lot from one place. Needed them for my home office and van trips. The inverter failed after a few uses and threw an error; customer service asked me to run through diagnostics, which I did, and it turned out to be a minor, fixable issue. They replaced the inverter and checked back. So, I was doubtful at the start but they sorted it — calm, efficient and fair.
Not my finest appliance romance
Spotted this fridge at my mate's flat and he was bigging it up, so I thought I'd give it a go. I was cautious though — seen too many dodgy bits of kit — but the price looked right and I liked the style. Turns out I probably shouldn't have rushed. Temps kept swinging around 12 degrees and a few times it slipped into the mid-40s, which is rubbish for food. Getting hold of support was a whole saga; they kept insisting that was normal. First one packed up at 18 months (compressor). They sent a part like I was a repairman, that didn't work, then after ages they sent a replacement which is okay for now. Bit of a mixed bag really.
Unexpectedly handy upgrade
I stuck the two 200W panels up, then doubled the battery bank so I moved to two 400W — a bit of a faff but worth it. Even at -6°C they still put out decent watts, they feel rock-solid on the roof, which feels reassuring, and the bifacial side actually grabs reflected light. In day-to-day use I’m getting noticeably more power than the cheaper panels I tried before — honestly.
Gift panic turned into a win
customer service actually found a way to sort a credit and exchange even though I thought it was impossible. Took a bit of back-and-forth, but they were helpful and calm. Would buy again, slightly relieved.
Halfway down the slipway
Halfway down the slipway I realised the battery was actually keeping the winch going without dying on me — and that was the exact moment I relaxed. I never even used these panels on an RV; bought them to recharge a battery that pulls my boat up and down the ramp. I started the whole thing knowing almost nothing about solar, so I spent a couple of weekends reading guides and forums. The BougeRV site had some really useful pages that helped me make sensible choices, though their parts/bracket guidance was a bit vague. I did buy the wrong mounting brackets first time and had to swap them, lesson learned. Overall I'm properly pleased it worked out — feels good it wasn't a waste and the kit does the job.
