By the third morning I remember thinking, hang on, I didn’t reach for the usual paracetamol — which felt odd and a bit brilliant. I was wary before ordering, lots of sites promise the moon and we’d had a rubbish mattress ages ago, so I half expected to be disappointed. We needed proper support — I’ve got spinal degeneration and my husband carries extra weight — so I was picky. The website itself was easy enough, the company kept in touch and the delivery chaps were courteous and lugged the heavy thing up to our room without a fuss. The removable zipped cover was a pleasant surprise (handy to wash) and after a week we’re definitely feeling less back pain.
Dodgy warranty, decent mattress
Noticed this mattress on a recommendation from a mate and later saw it on their website, so I ordered. First few months it was perfectly fine — pleasantly firm and comfortable. It's sat in my spare room and has had very light use, so I was surprised when one side started to sag badly after a year. There is supposedly a ten‑year guarantee, but their customer team says they're a 'different' company despite the same branding and product names. That felt like a cop‑out. I told my sister about it, and I feel a bit foolish. Comfortable, yes, but warranty and response leave a lot to be desired.
That first week felt like a win
I bought an Elite super king from Brook + Wilde back in January 2023 and, honestly, the first few weeks were brilliant — like, proper deep sleeps and no back moaning. I was pleased, actually smug for a bit. Then after about a year things quietly went downhill. At 12–18 months the middle started dipping (they told me a 4.5 cm / ~16% sag was “normal”), and by month 18 it was so soft it didn’t feel supportive at all. Worse, after the company rebranded to “Brook + Wilde Sleep” I couldn’t get the old support I’d expected — felt a bit like hitting a brick wall. I’ve since swapped it for another brand and waking up not sore has been such a relief. So, good initial impression, bad longevity and support. Bit gutted, but at least I know what to avoid next time.
Faded fast, support missing
don't rely on their aftercare — it's basically non-existent. I bought the mattress in 2021 to help with chronic back pain and at first it was okay, not brilliant but it helped. Over the last couple of years it's sagged noticeably and I kept waking up more uncomfortable. I contacted the new owners and they told me guarantees don't apply since 2023, so that was that. They still show awards from the original company which feels misleading. I started using it straight away in 2021; first impressions were fine, but seeing it degrade so quickly and then being shrugged off left me annoyed. It's not dramatic but disappointing, and I wouldn't recommend them.
Wasn't worth the gamble
it's one thing for a product to wear, another for a company to wash its hands and hide behind a rebrand. Delivery was fine, ordering process was okay, but the service afterwards was poor. Compared to other firms I've dealt with that stood by their goods, this felt sketchy. If you want longevity, I'd be cautious. Maybe a cheap replacement from Ikea and swapping every few years would have been less stressful. Bit annoyed, and lessons learned. Not at all what we expected.
