Solid overall, though I’d prefer a clear refund option. I take my grandson here for shoes, over the years. Staff are proper and helpful. It's usually busy, which can be annoying, but try Monday and it's calmer. I've had worse experiences elsewhere, so on balance I'm satisfied and will keep coming back.
Good find, small quibble
Found the exact Arch Fit Skechers in a decent taupe and at a proper sale price — that’s the highlight. Order process was straightforward and delivery quick. Shoes fit a touch snug at first, so I'd say consider trying on or ordering half a size up.
Finally sorted
Ordered two pairs of plimsolls for my daughter and her friend — only one arrived. I emailed, they apologised and sent the missing pair. When that box turned up there was only one lace inside, so I had to chase again. Eventually a pair of laces arrived and I felt satisfied. Not perfect, took too many messages, but it did the job. I've had smoother service elsewhere.
Bus epiphany
Sitting on the bus home I realised I hadn’t even noticed my feet — that was the moment I knew they’d done the job. Bought the boots for school runs and the dog walk, thought they might be stiff but they softened up straight away. To my surprise the grip in the rain is proper good and there was even a spare set of laces tucked in. Customer service took a bit to reply but overall pleased, comfy and worth the money, honestly.
quick turnaround that surprised me
I went in to grab school shoes and honestly expected a faff — had a brief wobble the moment my son said he didn’t like them. I’d looked at the returns on the website beforehand, but that’s not where the story ends. The staff were calm, offered a credit note and then actually helped me pick a different style to order in his size. It took a bit of back-and-forth and yes, it wasn’t seamless — no shoes in his size on the shelf, which was annoying — but the moment I realised they’d go the extra mile to sort an order and follow up, I felt properly relieved. Been burned by other shops that just shrug; this time they sorted a workable solution. Not flawless, not instant, but it worked out and left me pleasantly surprised.
Nice fit, sorted quick
They felt snug from the first step. Soft leather and a proper sole — I wore them straight away and they didn't need breaking in much, which I liked. I had a dodgy delivery once with another shop, so I phoned to check and a very helpful lady actually chased it and organised next‑day courier. Website's easy to use and the styles are a bit different. I'll buy again
Not quite what I expected
Took the shoes home, popped them on for the usual commute and the school run and within an hour knew they weren't for me. They looked fine in the shop but once I'd worn them a bit they pinched in a way I hadn't noticed. I tried to return them the same day and was surprised to be told that because they were bought in store I could only get an exchange or a gift card, no cash refund. No one had mentioned that when I paid — not helpful. Delivery wasn't an issue (I walked them out myself) and the shoes arrived clean and boxed, so the product was fine. It's really the customer service that let it down; felt like they were protecting the shop, not the customer. In the end I swapped for something else and that worked out, so not a disaster, but I'll be asking more questions next time.
Tiny shoe, big drama
I'm in a tiny clinic room, my two-and-a-half-year-old gripping my hand like we’re on a rollercoaster, and the podiatrist casually says “that shoe’s too small” — and I actually felt this weird rush of relief. I’d bought trainers for her thinking I’d done a decent job, but within weeks she was in real pain from an ingrown nail and ended up needing part of it removed and a course of antibiotics. Why did we need them? Because tiny feet grow fast but, obviously, not into shoes that pinch. The bit that made me satisfied — oddly — was watching the podiatrist work: calm, efficient, cracked a silly joke that made my daughter giggle, then handed her a sticker. That moment, when she smiled and stopped crying, I knew we were in good hands and that things would be okay. Annoying side: the shop refused to take responsibility and were bluntly rude when I went back. Still, the relief after the treatment, and seeing my little one bounce around later, was worth every awkward refund attempt.
Fitting shoes for toddler
I got some shoes for my little one in Newtownards, and it ended up causing painful ingrown toenails, so we had to go see a podiatrist. The shoes were just too tight, and it really hurt my 2 and a half year old, so we had to get medical help. But when I tried to get a refund, the staff member was so rude and wouldn't apologise. I'd suggest steering clear of this shop - they clearly don't care about kids' feet or wellbeing.
School shoes
I went to buy school shoes for my son and checked the refund policy online. It said I could get a full refund within 14 days. However, when I arrived at the store, my son changed his mind about the shoes. We asked for a refund but they only offered a credit note, which wasn't much help as they didn't have any other shoes he liked. The manager mentioned we could order alternatives, but he might not like those either. They claimed that their policy is different because you can try on the shoes in-store, even though this detail wasn't mentioned online. It was a really disappointing experience, so I won't be shopping here again!
Grandson's shoe fitting
I really like that this shop doesn't do refunds, but I've always had a great time whenever I bring my grandson here to get his shoes fitted. The team are so nice and know exactly what they're doing, making sure we always find the perfect fit. I've noticed that Mondays are quieter, which really helps to make everything run more smoothly.
Shoes purchase
I bought some new shoes, but when I tried them on at home, they just didn't look right. I wanted to return them but the shop said I could only exchange them or get a credit note. It's really unfair because their website says you can get a full refund. No one told me that I couldn't get my money back if I changed my mind. I believe customers should have the option to return items and receive a refund within 14 days. It's not right that they only offer credit notes for full price items. I won't be shopping there again. They should provide better training for their staff so customers are aware of the policies. It seems like they just want to keep your money.
About Cordners
The beauty of a dress is brought out more by the shoes accompanying the dress. One cannot hope to see the beauty of a man dressed in blazers suit while rocking leather sandals nor do we hope to find it aesthetically pleasing seeing someone wearing denim trousers with flip-flops more than another with a good pair of shoes. This leads us to the apodictic truth of the first line that the beauty of a dress is accentuated more by the kind of shoes worn. To this end, one cannot exaggerate the importance of shoes. But what are shoes without good quality shoes? Have you fallen a victim of poor-quality shoes? Shoes that in no time begin to expose your toes? Well, we just might have been victims and sure enough, you don't want to fall a victim again. The need for comfortable, nice and quality shoes has led shoe manufacturers to design and produce and maybe you do not know where to purchase them, Cordners is a shop you might be interested in checking out. We advise you to read honest customer reviews of Cordners here before visiting their website.
