an app that lets you alter charging current remotely. I’ve had chargers before that actually do what they say, so I assumed this would be the same. It does feel solid on the wall and the plug sits nicely, no faffing with the cable itself. But the app behaviour caught me out. You can change the current, yes, but only if you first stop the session and unplug the cable from the car. So the “change while charging” thing? Not really. You have to intervene physically, which kind of defeats the point of remote control. I tried to get this clarified with the seller — and that was a bit awkward, a little dismissive, plus they removed my feedback from their store which was annoying. Still, once you accept the limitation it isn’t useless: charging is steady, the unit is straightforward to use, and the app is fine for switching profiles before you start. If you’re after truly seamless current control mid-charge, look elsewhere; there are boxes that do it properly. For my use, though, it’s become handy enough — I just park up, set the rate before plugging in and leave it. Slightly misleading listing and shaky customer chat, but a useful device for everyday charging if you know what you’re getting into. I’d say cautious thumbs up rather than a full recommendation.
Let down after a year
don't rely on the waterproof claim — it failed within a year. I had it mounted under a shelter, used outdoors, and moisture got in despite the IP65 label. It worked fine at first, then simply stopped, just stopped. Customer service wouldn't accept the warranty, so that's another problem. Could have bought a similar unit on AliExpress for half the price and with better support. My advice: look elsewhere, unless you like taking risks.
