    Purse panic, pleasant rescue

    Sat on the concourse, I thought I'd lost my purse for good — proper panic. I booked this airline just a couple of months ago and mostly liked the price, so I wasn't keen to make a fuss. I was running between gates when I realised I'd left it on the plane. Told the agent, asked if I could nip back (there were still 15 minutes), and at first they wouldn't open the doors. I was gutted, crying even. Then, and this is the bit that surprised me, one young member of staff quietly took charge, called a colleague, found my purse and insisted they get me a hotel voucher for the night while they sorted rebooking. So not perfect — a lot of brusque faces — but that one person turned a nightmare into something bearable. First impressions now better than expected. Would use again.

    Mixed outcome on hotel costs

    The flight got cancelled in St Thomas and we were told at the desk that hotel costs would be covered, no cap — or so they said. We picked a reasonable place nearby, partly because later we saw other passengers put in the same hotel, so I assumed it was fine. After submitting the claim I was told they'd only approve part of it. I emailed and a supervisor rang me asking to resubmit, which I did, and then it was turned down again. I won't pretend I was thrilled, but the moment I felt genuinely relieved was when at least some of the expense did come back — it's not what I expected but better than nothing. Could have been clearer, and I've had other airlines handle this more cleanly, but I'm grateful it wasn't worse.

In the end we arrived late but not disastrously so, and the staff's calm made the difference. I still don't love the freight choice, but given the situation I'm glad it didn't become a complete disaster — mixed feelings, but relieved.

    it's messy, but not completely hopeless. I first spotted the "fully refundable" note on the airline app and thought great — until the refund turned into a voucher. Long story short: they issued credit valid until August 2026 and told me to ring them to use it. I rang. A lot. Eight times. Promised callbacks that never came. Once I chose the "keep your place and get a callback" option; estimated wait 52 minutes. Four hours later, still nothing. That's happened a few times. Also, they have cancelled the only flights to my destination, so the voucher only helps if I go somewhere else they fly. Irritating, and clearly not slick. That said, the credit itself seems legitimate and could work if you're flexible with dates or destinations. I'll use it eventually. Just be prepared for painful phone waits and a bit of faff.

    The moment it turned around

    a small kit with toiletries and a voucher for the hiccup, which was nicer than I expected and oddly cheered me up. Staff weren’t perfect — there were queues and a QR code desk which felt odd — but the personal touch from that one team made all the difference. Would I fly with them again? Yes, I’d give them another go, now that I’ve seen they can sort things properly when it matters.
