    A slow start, much better ending

    I wasn’t exactly buzzing when I first ordered a pair of Oakleys from the shop — I had to wait for them to be delivered in, which is fine, but a bit irritating when you’ve got a holiday coming up. Four days later I picked them up and noticed a hairline crack in one lens. The staff were nice but seemed unsure how to sort a refund; after a phone call (manager, I think) they finally refunded me and sent out a replacement. I was so sceptical by then that I almost gave up, but fair play, the next set arrived directly to my house and this time they were perfect. That moment — trying them on in the sun, no scratches, proper fit — was when I actually felt pleased. Not flawless service overall, and the waiting/stress wasn’t great, but the final outcome made it worth sticking with them.

    Lovely sunnies, annoying refund dance

    faffy, slow and pointless, and it's a bit rubbish for the planet. The pair I want is online-only so I might lose it while waiting for the credit to be reissued. I've had much simpler refunds elsewhere, so this felt unnecessarily complicated. I emailed and haven't heard back in over 24 hours. Still mulling whether to shop with Sunglass Hut again. Bit disappointed, really — I expected better from them.

    Strange purchase roadblock

    tried to buy a few pairs of smart glasses for a small blind charity and the checkout just failed instantly every time. No bank declines showed up on my side, just an error screen that appeared so fast you could tell it wasn’t even talking to the card issuer. Live chat first said “try again in 24 hours” — tried, no change. Then they suggested ordering fewer pairs; nope, same fault. Eventually email support replied after a couple of days saying the fix was to go into a store and buy them in person. That’s a two‑hour round trip for me, so not practical. There was no explanation, no offer to dispatch the items, no workaround apart from me travelling. I’m a bit annoyed — especially since it was for charity — and you’d expect at least a proper alternative. If you can’t get to a shop, maybe steer clear or be prepared for poor delivery options.

    Timing nearly ruined the day

    solid weight, not as flimsy as I'd feared, lenses cut the glare nicely and the nose pads sat quite comfortably — a bit snug at first, needed a tiny adjust. The frame finish looks good in daylight, a little less glossy than in the photos but that's fine. Using them felt natural after a short while; I kept fiddling for five minutes but then forgot about them, which is a good sign. So yes, happy with how they wear, but the buying experience let it down — slow updates, quiet customer service and a fair bit of worry for something I paid over a hundred quid for. Would recommend the glasses themselves, not the delivery process.

    Nearly gave up on them — until someone actually fixed them

    the staff didn’t seem to know how to tackle a simple repair and, after a quick look, offered a voucher for half the price of a replacement. Odd solution, right? I asked them to at least try to fix it and got a flat no. No attempt, no phone call to the supplier, nothing. Pretty frustrating, I won’t lie. Anyway, I wandered into a smaller shop down the road — and that’s the lovely bit. The chap there actually took them, fiddled about, sorted the hinge in ten minutes and handed them back as good as new. Relief. So I’m kind of happy overall: annoyed at the first place, genuinely impressed and grateful to the second. If you value someone who’ll actually try to fix things, go local.

I needed them for driving and just wanted something quick and easy. I was a bit nervous and expected a faff, but it actually worked out better than I dared hope. The shop didn’t have them on the shelf at first, so I hung around, made a couple of calls and they rang me back to say they’d sort a transfer and hold them for me. Took a bit longer than the ad implied, yes, but the staff were upbeat and kept me in the loop, which made a big difference. Felt human, you know? Not perfect — there was a short wait and I did chase once — but in the end I walked away with exactly what I needed and no drama. Proper relieved and would use again.

    Nearly brilliant, with admin madness

    I had to go into store, hand over the glasses so they could send them back, wait for a full refund and then re-order at the lower price. So for about two weeks I was sunglass-less (not ideal in bright glare on the motorway), but at least the staff in the shop were genuinely apologetic and tried to help where they could. It’s not perfect — waiting for the refund was annoying and the whole back-and-forth felt unnecessary — but the lenses themselves are good, comfy and actually make my commute less squinty. The process needs clearing up (allowing in-store price adjustments for online buys would save everyone time). Overall: nice product, messy purchase experience.

    Small scratch, big faff

    wasn't that what the protection plan was supposed to cover? He insisted it was standard and implied I'd been told that when I bought the plan. I remember the original conversation differently. The tone shifted after that; he laughed a bit while explaining the policy and it felt like he was enjoying the awkwardness more than fixing the problem. I asked for a manager and a young woman came over, but she didn't really listen — just shrugged and said that was the policy. Delivery communication was vague too: no clear date, no follow-up text to say the replacement had been dispatched, so I was left phoning back later to chase it. The glasses themselves are great in daily use — lightweight, good glare reduction while I'm driving — and I would buy them again if it wasn't for this warranty mess. I get that businesses need terms, but being told something one way at the point of sale and then treated differently later is poor. If you’re thinking of taking their protection plan, read the small print and ask exactly what the excess will be, and don’t assume staff will volunteer that. Slightly enthusiastic about the product, quite disappointed by the customer service and delivery handling.

    Sunglasses cleaning kit

    I recently bought a sunglasses cleaning kit from Sunglass Hut and I have to say, I'm really disappointed with the results. They told me this cleaning tube pack would protect the lenses, keep them in good condition, and prevent blistering. But when I used it on an older pair of sunglasses I got from Sunglass Hut a few years back, it completely wrecked them. The lenses blistered and the black polarisation peeled off, leaving them looking all patchy and awful. Even though I looked after my sunglasses and kept them safe, they got damaged beyond repair. But when I contacted Sunglass Hut for help, they turned me down because the sunglasses were more than two years old. I'm gutted because I'm sure the cleaner caused the damage, making it useless. The customer service I got was no help at all. I would strongly recommend avoiding this cleaning spray for any sunglasses, as it could ruin them.

    Gifted glasses missing gift wrap

    I ordered these glasses and they were meant to be gift wrapped because of a discount code I used, but they didn't do it. When I rang up, they told me they wouldn't gift wrap them because the glasses were on sale. The person on the phone was very rude and just ended the call on me. I spent ages on the phone just trying to get them to gift wrap my glasses. It's so irritating, really!

    Virtual try-on, in-store pick-up

    My time with Sunglass Hut turned out alright in the end. I found their website really handy as I could check out loads of different sunglasses styles virtually before heading into the actual store. But, when I popped in to grab my order, I wasn't too chuffed with the service I received. I had to request help to try on the glasses and the staff member didn't even offer to clean them before I tried them on. I thought a shop that focuses on sunglasses would be more on the ball when it comes to giving customers a top-notch and dedicated service.

    Still waiting for sunglasses

    I'm really irritated! It's been 4 weeks since I ordered my sunglasses and I still haven't received them. They already took my payment, but the delivery link isn't working at all! What's going on with that?! When I reached out to customer service, they told me there's a technical issue and I can't get a refund until they sort it out. I've spoken to 5 different customer service reps and none of them can resolve the problem. I've been waiting for emails but there's been nothing! I can't wait around forever for these sunglasses, but the company won't reimburse me. It's so frustrating! Customer service reps are nice, but getting a pair of sunglasses delivered is taking way too long. Sort it out, Sunglass Hut!

    Two sunglasses

    I ordered two pairs of sunglasses online, but they haven't arrived! I spent almost £400 on them, and now they're missing. I've called numerous times and spoke to a lovely lady from the Philippines, but all she said was they need to "investigate". It's been nearly a month and still no sign of the sunglasses. When I requested a refund, they also said they'd "investigate". I won't be shopping online here again!

    Two pairs of sunglasses

    I bought two pairs of sunglasses from this shop not long ago and both of them ended up breaking after just two weeks. When I went back to see if they could do anything about it, they told me the only thing they could offer was a new pair at 50% off. That's not really what I would call a decent warranty. I suggest people steer clear of buying sunglasses from this place and find a more reputable store with better warranty options for eyewear.

I have to admit, the customer service was excellent. The person I talked to was really understanding and quickly resolved the issue. They sorted out a replacement order for me straight away and made sure it was sent out quickly. I was so relieved that they dealt with the issue promptly and without any trouble. I was really impressed with how Sunglass Hut handled the situation and I'll definitely keep shopping with them in the future.

    Quick and easy purchase

    Virtual try-on feature

    The website was really easy to use and I liked trying on the sunglasses virtually, that was the best bit for me. But, it was a bit irritating that when I clicked on something and then went back to the list, it moved up a bit, meaning I had to scroll down again. I also think it would have been nicer with a lighter colour theme instead of black. However, all in all, it was a good experience using the website.

    I had a really great experience with Sunglass Hut. Their website was so easy to use, which made ordering my sunglasses a breeze. I wanted to get them for Father's Day ahead of time, as I've had issues with other online shops in the past being slow with delivery. To my surprise, my sunglasses arrived just a few days after ordering, which was much quicker than I thought. The fast delivery really made me happy, and the price I paid was fair for the quality of the sunglasses. I'm really happy with my purchase overall and will definitely be thinking about shopping at Sunglass Hut again in the future.
