Sticky parcel and no proper solution 4 October 2026

By the time this turned up, I already had a frustrating afternoon planned around cleaning it. I ordered sports gels on 6 June because I needed them for training and had run out sooner than expected. The estimated delivery was 12 June, but the parcel arrived two days later. That delay alone would not have been a major issue, to be fair. The state of the package was. The cardboard box was dented, partly open and looked as though it had been handled rather roughly. One box of gels inside had been crushed badly. Several gels had split and leaked over everything, so the other items were sticky as well. Not ideal when these are meant to go straight into a running bag. I sent photos to customer service straight away and followed their request to keep the damaged box. It is still sitting here, leaking slightly, because I was not given a clear explanation of what should happen next. Their offer was €20 as a goodwill gesture for a box that cost £48.63. That does not really deal with the fact that the product was unusable on arrival. I did not want to return something simply because I had changed my mind; it came damaged and messy. I expected either a replacement or a full refund for the crushed box, plus a prepaid label if they wanted it sent back. Since raising the issue, replies have stopped, which has made the whole thing more irritating than it needed to be. I have now contacted my bank to dispute the charge. A fairly simple delivery problem was handled poorly.
