files, assets and edits usually arrive when they say they will — not always to the minute, but fair enough. Customer service is actually decent; they pick up queries quickly, and when something’s unclear they’ll chase it rather than leave you hanging. The work flow keeps you busy, which is great if you like steady gigs — there’s always something popping up. Feedback is useful too, not the usual “good job” nonsense, but proper pointers that help you do better, so that’s appreciated. Not perfect: on one or two jobs briefs were a bit vague and I had to ask for clarifications (bit annoying), and sometimes turnaround expectations are optimistic. But overall it’s a helpful team, friendly and pragmatic. My tip: be explicit in your brief and you’ll sail through — and don’t expect perfection, expect good support and dependable delivery. I’ll stick with them.
Mixed feelings, but it worked out
one person said designers don’t advise, another said they do. Annoying. In the end the logo was spot on and the site got the polish I wanted after a bit of back-and-forth. So my doubts didn’t vanish straight away, but they eased once the team stepped in properly. Not flawless, but usable and worth a try.
Pleasantly surprised
I first spotted Reel Unlimited on LinkedIn — one of those random posts that actually got me curious. I tipped my mate Tom to take a look and decided to try a short unpaid brief myself, mostly to see how they'd handle it. To be honest, I was a bit sceptical at first, but they surprised me. Delivery came in sooner than I expected, and communication was steady; not the usual radio silence — proper messages, follow-ups and even a short phone call to check a detail. There were a couple of tiny mix-ups (that's life), but they fixed them straightaway and didn't make excuses, which I liked. Someone even popped in a quick extra tweak without charging, which was a nice, unexpected touch. Customer service felt human and friendly, not corporate — you could tell they cared. Price felt fair for the turnaround and attention, I wouldn't grumble. The review period was slightly longer than I thought they'd need, but the result made it worth waiting. All in all, I'm pleasantly surprised and have already recommended them to a few contacts. Good experience — reliable delivery and decent, thoughtful and timely service.
One refund that finally landed
poor upfront disclosure and flaky links are avoidable, and refunds shouldn’t need nagging. If you try them, keep screenshots and be prepared to ask twice.
A usable service, but don’t expect smooth sailing
Ultimately, it gave me deliverables I could work with, but the whole experience was bumpy enough that I’d be cautious next time. I started using them because the intro price looked sensible and I needed regular web design help for a handful of site updates; the first trial week actually showed potential — clean mock-ups, reasonably quick replies and I thought, okay, this might do. I then committed to three months. Pretty soon the positives were outweighed by process problems. Their setup forces you to hop between their app, Figma and Slack, and none of it felt neatly integrated. I’d put comments in Figma and later find they’d been missed, or that a designer had moved on and the brief hadn’t travelled with the job. Turnarounds were rarely the 24–48 hours they claim; more often you’re waiting three to seven days, and if something needs revisions that wait multiplies. Some designs were genuinely fine — a couple of web pages I got needed hardly any tweaks — but others needed several rounds to reach an acceptable standard. So yes, it works in the sense that things arrive, but it’s inconsistent.
Midnight build, daylight reply
odd spacing, missing style sheets, a couple of fonts that didn’t match up. So I had that little niggle — do I copy the mistakes, or use my judgement and tidy things up? I asked a single clarifying question about using rems instead of pixels and then got on with it because I didn’t want to waste time waiting around.
