I almost didn’t buy anything that day — felt a bit unsure to begin with because I’d had a couple of odd experiences in outlet stores lately, and I needed a small cross‑body bag for a short trip (my back’s been playing up, so hands‑free was non‑negotiable). At first glance the bag seemed fine and I thought “right, sorted”, but the moment I walked into the till area the atmosphere changed. One sales assistant was brusque, no hello, very clipped, and I’ll admit that made me step back and wonder if I should leave. I went ahead anyway because I needed it. Later, when we discovered the wrong item had been put in the bag and went back to swap it, things got tense — same assistant got rather snappy, even a bit mocking, which was surprising. Another member of staff apologised for her behaviour and actually sorted the exchange properly, which I appreciated. So, did my doubts vanish? Partly — the mistake was fixed and I’m relieved to have a usable bag for the trip, but the attitude on the first go left a sour note. Mildly annoyed, but grateful it didn’t end worse.
A strange bit of trust
a coat for the school run, a knit for working from home, stuff I’d wear a lot. After I paid I started noticing odd things — grammar on the site, odd contact details — and my stomach sank. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, honestly, but the doubt never really went away.
So I reported the issue through the usual consumer complaints page in Turkey — you know the one people use when companies mess up — and I expected at least some proper follow-up. Instead I got a very bland reply saying the complaint site wasn’t connected to the brand and a short, almost dismissive message that read like “sorry to hear that” and that was it. No real investigation, no empathy, nothing that made me feel safer. That’s the part that stung most: not just that I might have been duped, but that the company I trusted seemed content to shrug.
The items themselves — when they arrived — didn’t match what I expected in terms of quality and branding, so that confirmed my suspicions. I use these clothes every day, they’re part of my routine, so it’s annoying when something you rely on turns out to be iffy. I’m not out to shout them down — the pieces do the job — but the whole experience felt careless and left me wary. I’ll shop more cautiously now, check domains, dig for reviews. I wouldn't bother again. I mean, the coat — when I finally managed to zip one — was actually quite nice, much warmer than I expected, but everything around buying it was a right faff. Quick bit of background: I've bought coats from them before and they usually fit me fine, so I assumed this would be the same. Nope. First one I ordered in my usual size wouldn't even do up to my waist, which was a surprise. Then I discovered they don't do direct exchanges — you have to order another one and return the first. Bit clumsy, but okay, I ordered a size up and that one did zip, so there was that at least. The real mess started with delivery. I chose to have it sent to a UPS Store because the website listed that as a free option. No email arrived to say it was there; I only checked myself and found it had been sitting for days. When I went to collect I had to wait about an hour and pay £20 in cash because, apparently, Guess don't have an arrangement with UPS and UPS charges a handling fee. Fine, I paid it, then called Guess. First person said, show us the receipt and we'll refund the £20 within 24 hours. Days passed, nothing. I called back and was told I was never promised a refund — that was a lie, plain and simple. Then they said the £20 would be automatically applied as a credit if I used the same email on a future order. I tried that; no credit. Called again and was then told no automatic credit was possible and that they'd created a loyalty account for me (which, funnily enough, is why I started getting marketing emails I never signed up for). So yes, they messed up, they contradicted themselves, and they made me chase them. On the flip side, when I finally had the right size it was comfy and warm — pleasantly surprised by the coat's quality. But that doesn't excuse poor process and dodgy customer service. I told them to keep the £20 and that I wasn't interested in buying more from them, and I meant it. If you value straightforward service and clear communication, look elsewhere.
Online shopping experience
As a regular online shopper, it was really disappointing to have issues with the website. Broken links, images not loading, and my wishlist getting wiped out made it so difficult to browse and shop. I've already complained about these technical problems before, but it seems like no changes have been made. It's so annoying to put time into creating a wishlist only for it to vanish because of website glitches. I really hope they start taking customer feedback more seriously and focus on sorting out these persistent issues.

I bought a pair of earrings from this company and they turned out to be really bad quality. I only wore them once and they broke, making them impossible to wear again. I've placed quite a few orders during the sales this year, but unfortunately had to return most of them. "The return hasn't arrived", "the courier lost the parcel", "the refund deadline hasn't ended yet" - you name it. It's been 1.5 months and still no refund, leaving me out of pocket by £500. This will definitely be my first and last time shopping with this brand. I thought they were reputable, turns out I was wrong. I recently spent 1000 euros on purchases in the last two weeks, and I have to say, I've never been more let down by a company's customer service and website. I normally get my shoes from Guess, either from a physical shop or online, but this time I thought I'd give their website a go. My recent return experience
I'm really fed up with the whole return process at the moment. The company sent me these return labels to use with Yodel, but every time I've tried to drop off my parcel, the labels won't scan. I've been to the Yodel drop off shop three times now with three different labels, and each time they turn me away. It's been a real pain having to keep trying to return my parcel over and over again, wasting so much time and causing unnecessary stress. And to make matters worse, I'm not even home during the day to hand it over to a courier, so it's even more difficult for me to sort this all out.
