I remember standing there on a rainy Sunday, glass covered in smoke and wondering what I’d done — bought a Henley Lisbon 900 for over €2k and paid extra for fitting, so you can imagine my mood. The main gripe was smoke sneaking out around the fire rope at the glass edge, which was annoying and a bit worrying. I rang Henley a bunch of times, the rep agreed there was an issue and said he’d inspect but never turned up, then promised a wider rope. That bit dragged on for months. The saving grace is that they eventually sent the wider rope and once fitted the leaking pretty much stopped — thank goodness. It could’ve been handled faster, and I’ve had worse customer service elsewhere, so I’m honestly relieved it worked out. If you buy one, check the seal straight away and chase them hard — it pays off.
Mostly smooth sale
regular check-ins, realistic timelines, and ready to chase up solicitors when they stalled. That chasing made a real difference; it’s the behind-the-scenes things you don’t notice until someone does them for you. Using him was straightforward. Appointments were punctual, viewings managed professionally, and paperwork explained without waffle. He didn’t overpromise; instead he steered things with quiet competence and made the whole experience less of a headache. If you care about communication, he’s good — available when needed and clear on what happens next. One small gripe is that sometimes messages came late in the evening, which felt a bit intrusive, but I’d rather have that than radio silence. If I were to give tips: set your preferred contact times up front and ask for regular milestones. Overall I’d recommend him — efficient, conscientious and human. You’ll end up with fewer surprises, and that’s worth a lot. Price felt fair for the service, though it wasn’t the cheapest option.
That Saturday I knew it would do
There was a Saturday in late autumn when I finally felt a bit relieved. The house had been cold for months and I needed a dependable heat source. I chose a HETAS‑compliant stove because I wanted something that would last and look decent. I’d had a bad run before with a cheap heater that packed in after a winter, so I didn’t want to repeat that. Installation dragged on. Lockdowns made finding a certified installer a headache and it took over six months from order to first light. Frustrating, yes, but I kept telling myself it would be worth it.
New keys, new flat — and mostly good people
The whole move felt a bit surreal at first. We needed to relocate because my back had been acting up and stairs were a no-go, plus our last rental had been a bit of a nightmare, so I was nervous. Henleys made the actual handover easy. They managed to get us in earlier than planned, which was a huge relief — the delivery of keys and the welcome box were on time, in fact earlier, and that made setting up so much less stressful. Communication was clear. Short messages, quick calls. Not fancy, but exactly what you want when you’re juggling a toddler and a mountain of boxes. Mikhil deserves a shout-out. Proper professional, calm, and he took the time to show us around without rushing. He made sure we knew how everything worked and checked we were comfortable. Jill was also brilliant — always picked up or replied quickly, answered questions properly and didn’t make me feel silly for asking the same thing twice. That kind of responsiveness really stood out. On the flip side, we had two awkward moments. One of the viewers, Borys, seemed a bit impatient when our little one wandered about. It wasn’t a disaster, but it made the viewing feel rushed. And Myra, who rang about a contractor issue while I was dealing with a crying toddler, sounded abrupt. I get that people are busy, but a softer tone would’ve helped. Still, overall I’m really pleased. Delivery and customer service — especially from Mikhil and Jill — were the reason we felt settled so quickly. A touch more empathy from everyone would make it perfect, but I’m happy with our new flat and the way things were handled.
