The first time I slung it over my shoulder on the commute I actually noticed how evenly it sat — not one of those bags that drags you to one side. I needed something after my last briefcase fell apart mid-move and I’d been after a sturdier, smarter option for client days and hospital runs (yes, I do carry a lot). The leather smells rich, you can tell it’s not cheap vinyl; the grain is nice and the edges have softened already, in a good way. It fits my 13-inch laptop, a couple of folders and the usual clutter without bulging, and the pockets are sensible — phone, keys, wallet, pens, all find a place. The brass fittings feel solid rather than showy, and the strap is comfortable enough for a short walk between meetings. After a few months there’s a subtle darkening where I handle it, which actually makes it feel mine. Not perfect — it’s a bit stiff when empty and the inner lining picks up crumbs — but overall it handles daily life well and makes me feel a bit more together when I walk into a room.
Almost didn’t buy, but glad I did
I was properly on the fence before ordering — after being burned by a couple of leather makers who sent duff hardware, I almost walked away. The case turned up looking decent, but a clasp felt iffy. I rang them; they were straight on it, sent parts and arranged a repair (took a bit longer than I wanted). Now it’s fine, handles solid, latch works smoothly, and I’ve actually been using it daily. Not perfect — a small scuff appeared — but overall relieved and happy I took the chance.
