The main thing I noticed was how uncomplicated it feels. My signal has stayed solid because it runs on EE, and switching over was less of a faff than expected. I used data in Europe without watching every megabyte, which was a nice change. Outside the EU, the phone simply stops using mobile data and I use my eSIM instead. Sensible, really. Support replied properly when I needed help, too. Worth considering if you’re fed up with random extra charges.
Finally left my old network behind
After years of putting up with patchy reception, I switched because I needed reliable signal for work calls at home. The PAC bit was honestly the part I dreaded, but it was sorted without me chasing anyone, which was a relief. Coverage has been noticeably better in my area too. The lower monthly cost helps, and knowing part of it supports environmental projects is a nice extra.
Proper people at the other end
I noticed the difference when I actually needed help, not just when signing up. Getting started was mostly straightforward, though I had to ask about a couple of bits. The replies came quickly and didn’t feel copied and pasted, which is rare these days. Using the service has been easy enough since then, and it all feels considered rather than rushed. I’ve dealt with bigger companies that were far less helpful, so this was a pleasant surprise.
A small switch that mostly works
Nick and Dan are there on live chat with proper, personalised answers rather than the usual canned replies. The app is a bit clunky and setting things up took longer than I wanted, so it's not perfect, but knowing roughly 25% of what I pay goes into environmental and energy-saving projects makes me feel better about sticking with them.
