I was halfway picturing the new kettle on the counter when I got the cancellation email. That sort of thing has happened three times in a few months — I order, they advertise it on sale, then tell me it’s no longer available. It isn’t just annoying, it’s time wasted, and the refund takes about five days to show up. Customer service basically repeated “not available” (yes, I already guessed). Oddly, the one item that did arrive felt sturdy and well made — which surprised me.
Not worth the hassle
Honestly, I'm done with this shop for now — the clothes are fine but their returns process ruined it. I ordered a dress that didn't fit and the site was supposed to generate a return label automatically; that never happened. I waited, checked spam, tried the form again and it simply wouldn't let me request another one. I emailed, got polite reassurances and a promise they'd sort it, then nothing. After a few more days I chased them again and was told my case had been 'advanced to an investigatory committee' which sounded ridiculous and, well, vague. I even used live chat and all I got was "we're working on it", over and over. To be fair, I've bought from companies where returns are straightforward, but here it's been clumsy and slow. The dress might end up costing me. Nice stuff, shame about the support. Won't risk ordering again.
Delivery and refund muddle
Bought a scarf online and it turned into a saga. The website gave a delivery date which came and went, I phoned and was told it would arrive the next day — it didn't. Later I got an email saying the item would be back in stock in five days. I rang customer service to ask for a refund; the adviser said she'd process it straight away and emailed confirmation. I paid with PayPal so I expected a notification but nothing turned up, so I called the next day and was told the refund had definitely been completed. Still no PayPal message, so I called once more and was then told it hadn't been processed yet and they'd do it then. At time of writing I'm still waiting for any PayPal notice. It feels like a lot of contradictory information and chasing. The scarf itself might have been fine but I never got that far. If you're buying, be prepared to follow up and use a payment method with protection. I'll escalate to PayPal if this isn't sorted.
Receipt left me hanging
I nearly didn’t buy anything because I was unsure about returns and proof of purchase, but the jacket looked right and the till staff in the Cardiff FatFace seemed fine, so I paid £90.20 this morning. They told me they would email a receipt — didn’t arrive, not in inbox, not in junk. First impression of the shop was okay, transaction quick, no dramas in person. But later, that nagging doubt kept me checking my phone. I emailed customer services in the afternoon and was told bluntly they only deal with online orders and to go back to the store. I asked if they could ring the store and get a copy sent — apparently they can’t resend receipts. Worse, I was told my details had been passed on, which feels like a GDPR slip-up. I asked if they’d cover travel or parking to return and sort it out — they said no. Asked for a head office contact and the agent wouldn’t give details, just repeated the online-orders line. So my initial worry about lacking proof of purchase hasn’t gone away. There’s a decent product and helpful till staff, but the aftercare is messy and that’s annoying.
Shrinking standards, slow delivery — but service saved it a little
I wasn’t planning to write anything but ended up feeling like I should warn others. Bought a few things because I liked them years ago, but the last couple of orders were a mixed bag. Materials feel thinner, a jumper I got lost its shape after one wash, and several dresses are suddenly boxy where they used to be flattering. That said, the main issue for me was delivery and how getting help felt like pulling teeth. One parcel arrived late and tracking was vague for days — I was left guessing where it was. When I phoned customer service, the wait was longer than I liked and the rep sounded a bit scripted, but they did sort a refund for the missing item in the end. So that part went from frustrating to acceptable, just slowly.
