Lovely furniture, exhausting return process 28 September 2026

It’s a bit mad really, because the table set itself was exactly what we wanted for our family meals and the price looked too good to miss. We ordered a 180cm dining table, bench and five chairs for just under £350, mainly because we needed a proper space for dinners with the kids and, hopefully, for when relatives come round. Choosing a delivery date was straightforward enough, and the table and bench arrived on 12 April as booked. So far, so good. The problem was the chairs were apparently coming separately. A week later we were told they had gone out of stock and would not be returning. That completely changed things, as there’s not much use in keeping a dining table set when half the set is unavailable. We asked for a refund and arranged collection of the table and bench, after sending photos showing everything packed up. The first driver actually came inside, looked at the parcels and said they were too big to take. Which was frustrating, honestly, because the company already knew we had bought a 180cm table and had approved the return. Now another collection is booked for Tuesday, but I’m not especially confident after the first attempt. Getting hold of customer service has been difficult too; replies are slow and it feels like we’re chasing every step ourselves. The furniture looks nice and was a bargain on paper, but it has been sitting in our kitchen taking up loads of room while I’m heavily pregnant with two young children. It’s just added stress we really didn’t need. I’d have preferred they cancelled the whole order before delivering only part of it.
