I needed the kit for a last-minute flat move and hesitated at first — those little doubts nagged me. Went ahead anyway. After five days no dispatch email, I prodded on Facebook, someone tagged the owners, then my order was cancelled. Still waiting on a refund after two weeks. Called them; they told me to 'check tomorrow'. Emails ignored. Doubts intact, sadly.
Birthday let-down, refund was oddly quick
Sat with the confirmation email thinking all good, then a week later they tell me the three lures were out of stock — after taking my money. Not great when it's my son's birthday in two days. They did refund straight away though, oddly, which was the only decent bit. Other sellers warn you earlier; this felt sloppy and unnecessary.
Mixed bag, really
I first saw the reel on a mate's Instagram and decided to order. It was listed as in stock but turned out not to be — two weeks became four while I chased them. Eventually customer service processed a refund after a polite, slow exchange. Oddly, they included a small apology note, which was a nice touch even though the delay was annoying and I'm a bit relieved.
Worth buying, despite the faff
I'll order here again, even though delivery was a mess. Boots arrived and are exactly as described. Surprisingly, the studs are solid, which I didn't expect. The courier made it unnecessarily awkward. I complained and NETS spoke to them. Next day the parcel turned up. Staff were pragmatic and helpful. Small delay, but sorted. Tip: chase them early if the tracker goes quiet.
Postcode panic
I sent off new fishing rods and they went to the wrong address — annoying, but the odd thing was the silence from the seller. No replies to emails, nothing. UPS, bless them, actually tracked the parcel down and delivered after a few days of my chasing. Then one rod lost an inner eye after just a few uses. Sonik said the seller should sort a warranty claim, but, yeah, crickets from the seller. Not great, not terrible.
Rough start, decent finish
item showed then stalled and no replies for a while, which annoyed me. After chasing, customer service actually sorted things (not instantly, but they did), refunded when needed and pushed the courier. Delivery arrived quicker once they acted. Tip: pay with PayPal if unsure.
Sorted in the end
check availability first, honestly.
Surprisingly OK in the end
PayPal sorted me out fast, which was a relief. Ordered items weren't in stock and emails went unanswered, which annoyed me — familiar from other firms, actually. They did ring up with an alternative I didn't want; the bloke was friendly though. In the end I opened a PayPal dispute and got refunded almost straight away, oddly 4p missing, but job done.
Vanishing rings
Packed it for a weekend trip; first glance it seemed solid. Took it out twice in the first month. After the second session three of the top rings were gone — proper mystery. Felt like a cheap magic trick. Contacted them straight away. Long pauses, vague emails and an "insurance doesn't cover it" line after two or three weeks. Asked for a refund and then radio silence. Annoying. Wouldn't risk it again.
Half the stock, half the answers
Spotted it on a mate's post and decided to order three spools of braided line. I was already a bit unsure because the site only let me add two, but I went ahead and paid for the two. After a week with zero updates I emailed them. They replied saying the third wasn't in stock and apologised, but after my follow-up there was no timeline, no explanation of the website logic, just silence. That confirmed my doubts rather than eased them. Annoying and feels unprofessional — wasted time, wouldn't rely on them again.
Relief, not delivery
Stood by the kettle I realised I was oddly relieved — not because the thing turned up, because it didn't, but because the bank sorted it. I’d ordered this for my morning routine, the small item I’d use every day, and waited, and waited — two weeks, then another two — emails ignored, order cancelled with a promised refund that never appeared. Customer service didn't help, so I rang my bank and they re‑credited me straight away. Not perfect, not what I wanted, but at least my money came back.
Quick and hassle-free
I'm honestly really pleased — would buy from them again. Bought a Century rod online and it turned up within two working days, which I wasn't expecting to be so painless. Got a call that morning from their Sunderland branch to make sure I'd be in, and the delivery bloke was friendly, checked the rod with me (nice touch) and didn't rush off until I was happy. Item was exactly as described and in perfect nick on the doorstep. I've seen negative reviews but my experience was faultless; give them a go if you're unsure.
A bit of a muddle
I ordered a little kitchen scale for baking and it's become part of my morning routine, so I was annoyed when one item turned out to be out of stock. I tried the contact page but got no reply, baffling — why have one then? When they updated the order to remove the missing bit the parcel actually arrived pretty quickly and the scale works well. The refund took nearly two weeks though, which was tedious. Still, delivery was surprisingly prompt once sorted and the product does the job. Customer service just needs to be more on the ball.
Quick, tidy and mostly spot on
I was half expecting a typical online faff but this lot have been surprisingly reliable. I buy gear for weekend trips to the river — rods, reels, bits of tackle and the odd carryall — and NETS has become my go-to. Biggest plus was a Friday morning tinny order that was confirmed and out the door almost straight away; I honestly thought it’d sit till Monday, but it turned up Saturday with a tracked time slot. That saved me a last-minute dash to the shop, which was great. Packaging is sensible too — nothing excessive, and they even seem to shove related items into one box so you’re not binning loads of cardboard. Only niggle is that first couple of times I’d open a box and double-check because it felt like something was missing, but it never was. So, mild worry, no real problem. Overall I’ll keep ordering from them; decent prices and proper fast delivery make it easy to recommend.
Fishing rod purchase
I wouldn't bother with this company if I were you! I bought a fishing rod they said was in stock for next day delivery, but it turned out a week later they didn't even have it and said it would take "a few weeks". So I went to Veals instead, and they were great - constantly updating me and delivering the next day. Seems like this company is just taking orders they can't handle, which isn't fair.
Fishing equipment purchase
I recently bought some fishing gear from this online shop and it was a total nightmare. The website showed things that weren't even in stock, tempting people with low prices. When I asked about my order, they ignored me completely. It looks like they don't have anything in stock and just want to trick people. I had to open a dispute on PayPal to get my money back because they were taking too long to refund me. It's been the worst online shopping experience I've ever had. I recommend checking out all the reviews of this company before buying anything.
Wading boots with cleated soles and studs
I recently bought a pair of wading boots with cleated soles and studs from North East Tackle Supplies. The ordering process was easy, although there was a small issue with the delivery service. When my parcel got mishandled by DHL, I contacted NETS for help. The team at NETS quickly sorted out the problem with DHL, and thanks to their fast work, I got my wading boots the very next day. I was really impressed by the excellent customer service and professionalism shown by the staff at NETS. They were so helpful, understanding, and really went the extra mile to make sure I was happy. Despite the initial problem, I'm happy with my purchase and the whole experience with North East Tackle Supplies.
fishing nets
I bought some fishing nets from North East Tackle Supplies recently and it was a nightmare. The things I wanted were meant to be in stock, but it turns out they weren't actually available. So, my order got delayed and I had to wait for three whole weeks with no solution in sight. I got in touch with customer service several times, but they couldn't help at all and I never got my money back. Honestly, it was a total rip off and probably the worst shopping experience I've ever had. I'd recommend steering clear of this company to anyone else thinking of shopping there.
Fishing gear
My experience with North East Tackle Supplies was really disappointing. At first, I thought their website had a great range of fishing gear and good prices. But then, when my order didn't turn up even though it was meant to be in stock, I got frustrated. I paid extra for quick delivery, so I expected my stuff to arrive soon, but it didn't. Their responses to my emails asking about my order were not helpful at all, which made me even more disappointed. It seemed like their customer service team didn't really care about my concerns or that I had paid for things I never got. Even when I cancelled my order, it took ages for me to get a refund. Overall, my first impression of this shop was really bad because they were not professional and didn't seem to care about keeping customers happy. I would recommend looking somewhere else for your fishing gear.
Fishing gear
The customer service at North East Tackle Supplies is really great! I sent them an email with a query about my order and got a response in just 2 hours. They told me one of the things I wanted was out of stock, but they let me know straight away and I could change my order without any bother. The really good thing is they do next day delivery, even to Northern Ireland! Don't let any negative reviews put you off, I'll definitely be back for more fishing gear in the future.
