Overall, I'd say it was worth it. I bought a double mattress protector in December because we'd just moved and wanted to save the new mattress — only put it on in April and noticed a small hole in the linen layer. I emailed with a photo; they apologised straight away and sent a replacement, which arrived surprisingly quickly.
Midweek surprise
Midweek parcel day — wasn't sure what to expect, but delivery was spot on, came sooner than they said. Customer service answered my query quickly, helpful, a bit casual, which I quite liked. Not perfect (wish they'd do bespoke mattress encasements), but overall a decent, reliable experience compared to other similar firms.
Late-night relief
Half-awake I peered at the mattress cover and realised it was doing its job — seams neat, no gaps, proper waterproofing where it counts. That moment of relief, thinking 'phew, no bedbugs, no soggy mess', made me happy and I repurchased. Had an older one that lasted seven years but the waterproofing faded, so fair enough. If you worry like me, go for it and maybe replace after a while, a bit.
Left hanging before Christmas
It was raining that morning and I thought 'right, quick order' — I ordered on 23 Dec, expecting 1–3 working days. My gut doubted it, but I pressed buy. Tracking froze on 31 Dec and after ten days there was radio silence; I had to dash out and buy a replacement. I asked for a refund since the need had passed — annoying, but the refund was sorted without faff.
Small relief after a nightmare
I remember pulling the protector off after my husband’s fever and seeing the big brown marks. Proper annoying. We’d bought a king-size protector with a 15-year warranty and used it on our new Hypnos mattress. Washed it exactly as they said. Still, the backing had split and left stains. I rang the company, sent receipts and serials, but they refused the warranty claim and barely answered me — no inspection, no offer to help with a deep clean. That part was infuriating. The moment I felt satisfied came later though, when the cleaner I paid for managed to get the mattress looking almost normal again and we could actually sleep properly. I’m glad the bed was saved, but the product failing and the shabby service left me cross.
