a bit too confident, the website seemed off. Then a message came through saying they didn’t actually have it and wouldn’t this year. I sighed, expected the usual tumbleweed. But then the Managing Director phoned — proper, personal, sorted everything out quicker than I dared hope. That phone call is the moment I knew I was actually happy. Slightly surprised, a bit relieved, and genuinely likely to give them another go.
New pans, mixed feelings
even heat, comfy handles and they’re great for weekday dinners, sauces and the occasional stew. The snag is those blemishes — they spoil the look and it’s the thing I keep noticing. I contacted Seasons straight away; they said they’d pass it to the maker and then crickets from their emails, so their aftercare is poor. Still, I’m using the pans every day because they work well and I do like the heft and how they perform on the hob. Not perfect, not Le Creuset-level lovely, but decent enough for daily cooking.
Tiny flaw, big service
I’d buy from them again — mainly because of the way they handled a tiny blip. I first spotted the Kai bread knife on a mate’s counter and, on their tip, ordered one from Season. When it arrived there was a small dent in the handle. I sent photos to Season and they offered a replacement straight away. On checking their stock they found the same little mark on several knives and thought it was a production quirk rather than a proper fault. I was happy with that, but Kai Europe initially flagged it as a defect and asked for the knife back for quality checks. Season covered the postage, which was fair, and after inspection Kai Europe realised it really was just a manufacturing mark. I kept the knife and it cuts brilliantly — no issues. Big shout to Richard at Season who was patient and clear the whole time; really appreciated that. All parties handled it properly and I’m glad it worked out. Comfortable to recommend.
Saved my breakfast, almost
the human bit. It felt like someone had my back, literally. Small gripe: I rang three times earlier the same day to check stock and couldn’t get through once; a callback or answering would have saved me a nervy detour. So it’s not flawless, but the in-person service was warm and useful, and the practical advice made the visit worth it. I’ll be back for bits and bobs, and next time I’ll try not to expect perfect phone etiquette.
Proper little gem
I went in on a rainy Tuesday and left with three things I didn't plan to buy. The place is compact and full. You can pick up a frying pan, feel the weight, test the handle, and know straight away if it's comfortable. A knife can be tried for balance. Little things matter. I prefer this to buying online where you guess at measurements and hope the finish is right. The staff know their stuff. They don't hard sell. They talk like people who cook. They point out subtle differences — harder steel, thicker sole, nicer rivets — and often suggest a cheaper option that still works. Prices aren’t inflated; sometimes they're better than in the big supermarkets. The range is curated. You won't find every brand, but you do find sensible, useful tools. They've made errors a couple of times, like sending the wrong box. It was irritating. They fixed it without fuss though. I once had a much worse run-around with a larger retailer, so I appreciate how this shop handles problems. It's not flawless. Some days it's cluttered. But the feel of the products and the helpful, straightforward staff keep me coming back. I always enjoy a proper rummage.
