the kit nearly beat me. Instructions were vague, the header needed trimming and it took ages to get the cord lengths right. I rang for help in July, didn't get a useful answer, emailed and was promised a callback that never came, so I left it for a while. Three days ago I tried again, kept ploughing on, and gradually things clicked. It’s not elegant — the cord runs top to bottom and balancing the slats meant trial and error — but it works and looks fine. If you’ve made blinds before you’ll cope; if not, be prepared to fiddle. Not perfect service, and the instructions need a rethink, but once it was done I felt relieved and actually fairly pleased with the result.
Slightly worried at first, but glad I stuck with it
I’ll be honest — I hesitated before ordering because the pictures didn’t show any white backing and I’d read about people getting surprises. I didn’t have time to order a sample, so I took a chance. When the blind arrived I did notice a white strip at the top which annoyed me, and yeah, at first I thought "this is going back". I emailed and called a few times, there was a bit of repetition from their end about T&Cs and a 50% refund policy (they kept going back to that), but after pushing a little they offered the 50% and actually it felt fair in the end. From the sofa it looks fine now, and the room feels better. I’ve had worse runarounds with other companies, so compared to that this was OK. Not perfect, but my doubt faded — not fully stress-free but satisfied enough to recommend if you can’t sample first.
The one that turned a grumble into a grin
that Amanda Holden set I’d had my eye on and, somehow, managed to nab the final one in stock. Delivery hiccuped — the local shop apparently had too many parcels and wouldn’t take it on the first go. Been there with other firms where parcels just disappeared into some void, so I braced for disappointment. But Rachael at Terry’s didn’t let it fizzle out; she kept the returned parcel to one side and made sure it was resent to me. That’s when I thought, yep, that’s service worth sticking with. Small thing maybe, but it turned a potential let-down into a silly little victory. Grateful, and a bit smug that the bed looks great now.
Utterly underwhelmed
Overall, I’d say this was a bit of a disappointment — not terrible, just messy and avoidable. I placed the order because we needed new duvet covers for guests this week, and I expected a straightforward transaction; instead I found the product info on the site vague (materials and measurements weren’t clear), which meant I had to call. First impression on that call wasn’t great — the person I spoke to couldn’t confirm fabric details, so I held off initially. When I did reorder later and paid extra for faster shipping, I got a message after payment saying the item was out of stock and likely delayed by a week. That was frustrating, especially as my availability for delivery is tight (why no click-and-collect option?). The follow-up call felt brusque — sounded defensive rather than helpful — so I ended up feeling a bit blamed for the situation. I’m hoping the items arrive as now promised, but this could’ve been handled much better with clearer online info and friendlier, better-informed staff. Small things, but they make a difference.

Curtains
I bought some curtains online and they were quite different from how they looked in the picture. The colours seemed really bold and vivid in the image, but in reality, they turned out to be much more subdued. I was hoping to bring some liveliness to my room, not make it seem dull. However, I must admit that the curtains were reasonably priced for what I got. I’ll give them a chance to grow on me and see if I end up liking them.
