I wasn't sure about buying from them — you always worry a bit online — but they rang me the day after I ordered to check I'd picked the right size and whether to size up. It was surprisingly relaxed and helpful, the guy sounded polite and gave sensible advice, not a scripted spiel. He also said they'd post the shoes the same day, which they did, so I was relieved. I've had dodgy experiences with other retailers before, so I'm glad this turned out well. I'll buy from them again, still cautious.
Unexpected renewal, mixed feelings
I opened my inbox to find they'd taken the monthly fee for November — only a few days into the new cycle — and I felt a bit flat about it. I had emailed to say I'm pausing my subscription because work is ridiculous at the moment and I simply haven't used it, so being charged for something I didn't touch feels unfair. I was under the impression there was some leeway, maybe two weeks into the billing, but apparently not. That aside, the content itself isn't terrible; a couple of articles actually surprised me and were genuinely useful, which made it harder to be completely annoyed. Mostly though it comes across as a lot of polish around fairly lightweight stuff — useful in bits, but not consistently worth the monthly fee if you can't make time to use it. I'd like them to offer a short grace period, or a proper pause-without-charge option, or even a small pro rata refund when you clearly haven't accessed the service. As it stands I won't rush to resubscribe, which is a shame because parts of it are decent. A clearer, kinder billing policy would make a world of difference.
Half-decent content, full-quarter trap
I was sceptical before signing up — mainly because I didn't want to be tied in and wasn't sure the archive would be worth it. Took the free trial to check that out. Used it for a couple of weeks, read a few pieces, overall useful but not a must-have for me. So I decided not to continue, or at least that was the plan. Then I missed the cancellation window by a single day and, as it turns out, they billed me for the whole quarter straight away. Contacted support to explain I was only a day late and that I didn't want a paid membership; the replies made it clear this is standard practice, not a one-off. They processed the charge and then replies dried up. The content itself does the job — some good analysis, some filler — and it works well enough for casual browsing, but the billing approach left a sour taste. If they offered a straightforward monthly option after the trial or a bit more flexibility on that first renewal, I'd be more inclined to stay. As it stands, decent material, dodgy customer handling; not perfect, but it works.
Unhelpful auto-renewal, then a useful reply
one email about renewal and that was it. For a substantial charge that’s poor.
