Perhaps I was unlucky to receive a poor box for my first month but it certainly put me off carrying on with the subscription. I received a small bag of flour, a small bag of icing sugar and a small bag of castor sugar, plus very small packs of granulated sugar and dried raspberries. The recipe is what has put me off, it was for a normal plain Victoria sponge! they tried to make it sound better by asking you to buy mascarpone and raspberries to decorate it but it menat that in essence all you got from them was basic ingredients for a plain sponge cake!. I think most people would have such basic ingredients already at home and anyone with any interesting baking can make a normal plain sponge cake! I joined in order to try something more exciting than the same old basic sponge but for my money that was all ended up getting. For £10 a month for 1 cake your'e be better off just buying a couple of cake mix kits from Tesco, as least you will get some variety then.
