I spent Saturday faffing about with configs and... well, a lot of swearing, trying to get my custom neoforge modpack to actually start. Apex's panel felt solid under my fingers — neat enough, not overbearing — but the real win was Francisca Schweikart on support. She patiently stepped through crash logs and odd mod conflicts, guided me to the right toggles, and yes, fixed the mess I made. Now the server runs smooth, latency's fine and setting up evening sessions with mates is straightforward. I use it most evenings after work to tinker, chat and forget the day. Feels like a proper little hub for our weekend builds. Not flawless, but very reliable. Big thanks to Francisca, honestly.
Mid-game freeze
Halfway through a tame hunting run I was booted back to base because everything juddered and then caught up five seconds later. Me and two mates run ARK together a few evenings a week, small group, nothing fancy on our end, yet the server keeps spiking. It feels like the world lurches — crops stop, dinos glitch, and more than once a stupid lag spike has just eaten hours of progress when someone died. Setup was quick and the control panel's fine, so it's not total loss; after some tweaks the host seemed a bit steadier, so I'm cautiously optimistic, but not fully sold. I still wouldn't recommend blindly.
