I was scrolling through the replies and felt a bit put out. They’d sent two separate lawyer referrals and one of the profiles had sloppy phrasing, so I worried how I’d come across. You can’t edit what they pass on, apparently, which made me feel exposed. I’ve had dodgy matches before, so I was sceptical. The moment I felt properly satisfied was when one lawyer phoned, sorted the mix-up, and spoke straight. Calm, honest and clear. Not perfect, but I was relieved.
Referral hiccup — worth checking
Strange start, but I’m actually pleased I can put this out there. I used the website thinking it would point me to decent solicitors, and the site itself was pretty handy and easy to use, which I liked. The referral it gave me — John B Tucker Law at 2011 Commerce Dr — turned into an annoying mess when they wouldn’t give my fees back. That stuck with me. I kept chasing and only got excuses. Don’t take the referral on blind faith. Ask about refunds, get things in writing and check the lawyer’s own reviews. I’m still chasing my money and I’ll keep going, it’s no fun to deal with. Really annoying, but I hope this helps others.
Slight relief in the end
emails missed, messages not passed on, and the office seemed a bit chaotic. I kept chasing, chasing, and often got vague replies. Damian himself sounded defensive when I questioned things, which didn’t sit well with me. Then, and this is important, the day he finally sat down and talked me through the options in plain English and the paperwork was correctly filed, I felt proper relief. Not joy, not thrilled, but relieved — that moment told me it had been worth it. Still, the communication and staff handling need work; small things that add up. I’m a businesswoman and I expect respect and decent updates. Human, frustrated, relieved — in that order.
