I was a bit unsure before I clicked pay — saw VISAGOV on a backpacking Facebook group, a mate had mentioned it. I followed the steps from South Africa, authorised the payment and then... silence. I really wanted it to work, honestly I did, so it was a relief when another provider sorted my VOA last minute, even if awkward. Still waiting on a refund and no replies, which is annoying, at least for now.
Misnamed service
By the time I spotted "gov" in the name I was already halfway through booking. A mate had sent the link from a forum, so I assumed it was legit. Delivery was slow and they only issue visas from 15 days before travel, which I wasn't told upfront. I tried organising a refund; customer service replied but didn't explain the process clearly, so I'm stuck. It eventually worked, but it wasn't smooth — could have been quicker via the embassy.
Quick and quietly effective
I booked a last-minute work trip and filled in the Egypt e‑visa form; three days later I had approval and that’s when I actually relaxed. The emails about extra entry docs were clear, which surprised me. The site felt a bit clumsy and the fee a touch steep, but it did what I needed, no drama.
Unreliable and slow
questions were either brushed off or answered vaguely, or simply ignored. With two weeks to go I panicked and used another provider, who produced a valid visa in two days. That showed it was possible. I asked this company for a refund and they refused, with no proper explanation. Delivery was slow, customer service poor. Relieved the trip worked out, but won't use them again.
Not worth the bother
avoid this firm. I used them because I was moving to Australia for work and honestly I didn’t have time to sort the visa myself. Three months passed and still no visa. Even worse, they somehow attached another person's details to my application and then marked it as processed. When I complained they said it couldn't be changed and I’d have to pay again. They then stopped replying. So, no apology, no follow-up. Really ridiculous. In the end I did the application myself via the official site, flew without issues and paid less. Bit annoying, but pleased it worked out. I wouldn’t recommend them unless you like extra stress.
