Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this unless you don’t mind surprises — the end price turned out the same as buying locally and that annoyed me more than it should. I first spotted their deal because a colleague sent me a link (thought it was a good bargain), so I went ahead and ordered a pair of glasses. The website showed “free shipping” and my receipt looked final, so I genuinely assumed that was that. A few days later UPS rang asking for an extra $60 import fee. That was a proper surprise — I don’t make many international purchases so I hadn’t been primed for import charges. I got in touch with the company and, to their credit, everyone was polite and helpful on the phone; they weren’t able to do anything about the fee. But the explanation they pointed me to was buried in some tiny blurb on their site — hardly front and centre at checkout — and that’s the real problem. If you’re advertising “no shipping” you should be clearer about country-specific import costs, maybe a checkbox or a big notice on the purchase page so people don’t get stung. It’s frustrating because the savings evaporated once I paid the charge, and you end up waiting longer for something that, in the end, costs as much as buying from the shop round the corner. I’m a bit annoyed but not furious; just wish they were more up-front. If you’re tempted by a discount, double-check your country’s import rules or be ready to lose the saving — that’s my takeaway.
