I first noticed MalCare mentioned in a small WordPress forum, after a mate had complained about cleaning up another infected site. I was doubtful it would be much different from the usual security plugins, especially for two fairly ordinary sites. The email notices can feel a bit frequent, if I’m honest, but they’ve been useful for spotting old plugins before they become a nuisance. Since setting it up, I haven’t had the hacked-login scares or malware disruptions I used to get. The dashboard is straightforward enough, and support have answered without the usual scripted nonsense. So, yes, I’ve ended up rather pleased with it.
The backup check I don’t skip
Looking after a few client sites alongside my day job can get messy, so BlogVault has become part of my usual routine. The backups are easy to check and, more importantly, they’ve been reliable when I’ve needed them. I did have one slightly confusing setting at first, but support talked me through it without making it a whole thing. The security side gives me a bit more peace of mind too, especially before updates or plugin changes. It isn’t the cheapest tool I use, admittedly, but for keeping client websites safe, it feels worth it.
The restore point that settled an argument
A client insisted their site fonts had suddenly changed, but we checked an older backup in Blogvault and, well, nothing had been altered. That alone saved a fair bit of back-and-forth. The alerts for expired domains have also been genuinely useful, and the support team reply without making things feel complicated. We’ve used other backup services before, where restoring a site was more stressful than the problem itself. This has been much more dependable.
Finally, something that just works
scores shot up into the 90s and those hefty articles load properly now. Installation was painless, no weird server tinkering, and the paid plan lets you dig a bit deeper without needing to be a techie. Small gripe: documentation could be clearer, but my doubts have mostly gone.
Logs and lifelines
There I was, elbow-deep in logs, having tinkered with server settings and broken the site — classic. I'd signed up to BlogVault recently and was a bit sceptical about yet another backup, but on the day I needed it they turned up. When the backup failed I raised a ticket and within half an hour someone suggested a fix I could try straight away. Turned out it was my own mistake, I applied the patch and backups resumed. Delivery of the fix and follow-up was impressively quick, the team were patient and easy to deal with. I also like the safe plugin updates.
