    Slightly baffled delight

compare specs, watch videos, read reviews, make a spreadsheet I’ll probably never open again. Somehow Gweike kept cropping up, and after a week of poking around we settled on the G2 50W as the most sensible step up.
What I did not expect was the human bit. I had an email exchange with someone called Villa — small thing, nothing major — and they misgendered me (the kind of mistake that happens; annoying but fixable). I replied with a polite correction and a brief note about our business. Within hours Villa replied, apologised nicely and — and this is the bit that made me almost spill my tea — added a G1 10W diode laser to our order at no cost. Yes, really. Free.
That gesture meant more than the free gadget itself. It felt like these people actually read emails, cared a little, and wanted to make the experience straightforward. Communication has been the standout: friendly, quick, unshowy. It doesn’t change the fact I haven't powered the machines up yet (so I’m not an expert on cutting or engraving outcomes) — there’s a cautious part of me saying “wait until you’ve used it properly before singing praises.” But so far? I'm impressed.
If you're shopping around: watch the demos, ask questions, and be clear about your details (names and addresses — don’t be like me and assume anything). Also, don’t be shy to tell them if they've got something wrong; they might surprise you. Not perfect — a small slip at first — but the way they handled it makes me hopeful we’ll have smooth sailing when the kit arrives.

    Misplaced kit, frayed patience

the smaller G2 engraver had a hiccup out of the box and went into trial mode; annoying, but they accepted the return and the replacement runs fine — it's solid to use, cuts cleanly and the software feels reasonably snappy (so that part actually works and I still use it). The other machine, a 55W Cloud unit, felt rubbish from day one. It never behaved properly, couldn’t be relied on, and basically prevented me from doing any work. I was on WhatsApp with support daily trying to fix it, but after a couple of weeks I’d had enough and sent it back for a refund so I could buy a different brand and get back to making things.
What followed was the worst bit: the carrier picked up the laser and there’s a signature and photos showing it was delivered back to their Sydney warehouse, yet Gweike kept telling me they couldn’t find it. Support slowly went radio silent and then blamed me, saying I’d sent it to the wrong place. That felt like being gaslit. I’ve lost months of trading because I didn’t have the kit, and I can’t reorder while my money’s tied up. I’ve been polite but firm — I even contacted the carrier myself and finally got proof the machine arrived (as I’d been saying all along). It’s exhausting.
If you’re buying from them: expect the hardware itself (if it works) to feel decent — the replacement G2 is reliable and pleasant to use — but don’t bank on fast, straightforward support or a smooth returns/refund process. Keep every bit of paperwork, insist on delivery photos, and don’t hesitate to push their carrier for proof. I’d like them to be more accountable; for small customers this kind of muddle is devastating. Not a glowing endorsement, but the kit can be good — just be careful with the aftercare.
