There I was, with a pair of fleece-lined leggings sitting in the return pile like a tiny administrative disaster. I’d bought them late November as a Christmas present for my daughter, thinking I was being wonderfully organised for once. She tried them on after Christmas and, sadly, they were too snug. Not disastrously small, just enough that she wouldn’t be comfortable wearing them.
