I didn't expect to be plotting an escape from the warmth. We booked the night cruise to see Manhattan lit up, we sat inside, freezing, only to find the cabin full of fairy lights and trees — nice touch, but the reflections on the windows made the city lights almost invisible. The moment I knew it was worth it was when I stepped out into the biting cold and the skyline came alive, different from the reflected mess inside. Staff were helpful — offered a hot drink and dimmed lights. I've done other cruises; was mixed but ended happy.
