I am absolutely horrified at the lack of compassion displayed by this holiday company. We had a family trip booked, but unfortunately, the day before we were supposed to go, my husband became ill and was diagnosed with a brain tumour. When I asked Haven to change the dates of our holiday, they flat out refused and said we would only get half of our money back once we provided the discharge papers. I attempted to sell the holiday on social media to try and get some money back, however, Haven intervened and threatened legal action against anyone trying to take over our booking. The service we received was absolutely appalling.
Ant-infested caravan
During my recent stay at the holiday park, I was really let down by the state of the caravan we were meant to stay in. When we got there, we found ants absolutely everywhere - on the beds, in the curtains, on the worktops, and even inside the kettle. The security guard told us that there were no other places to stay, so we had no option but to find somewhere else to stay for the night. It really put a downer on the beginning of our holiday, as we had to put my elderly mother out and crash on her floor for the night.
Family holiday experience
We thought we'd change things up this year and give a new holiday park a go. What a mistake that was. Perran Sands in Cornwall turned out to be a total nightmare. The whole place was a mess, everything looked broken and unsafe - not exactly what you want when you're trying to unwind with your family. Honestly, I wish I could show you the photos to really illustrate how bad it was.
Most days we couldn't even bear to stay on site, it was that bad. We actually ended up cutting our trip short by a day because we just couldn't take it anymore. The pool was disgusting, the restaurants were a joke, and the staff were incredibly rude. And to make matters worse, there was broken glass scattered all over the kids' play areas. The evening entertainment was dull, and don't even get me started on the food. All three eateries on site served up below-average meals that left a sour taste in our mouths.
If you're after a proper holiday experience, stick to Cleethorpes, Mablethorpe, or Hayle. Haven really needs to get its act together and stop sullying the Perranporth name with this disaster of a park.Stay at a holiday park
This was my first time staying at a holiday park and I decided to go to one in North Wales. The experience was okay, nothing special really. The facilities were pretty good, but nothing amazing. The staff were nice enough, but nothing particularly outstanding. The food delivery to the accommodation was quick, but there wasn't a huge variety to choose from. The general vibe was fine, but it didn't really leave a lasting impression on me. I thought the prices were a bit high for what was on offer. The location was pleasant, but not really anything exceptional. Overall, it was an alright experience that didn't quite meet my expectations.
My trip
My friends and I had a great time at the pool, but the lifeguard wasn't watching and I almost drowned! It was scary, but also kind of exhilarating.
Chalet stay at Perranporth
Avoid staying in the chalets in Perranporth at all costs! They were absolutely filthy and disgusting. The mattresses were damp, the cupboards were infested with bugs, and the carpets were crawling with woodlice. The curtains were covered in mould, it was just awful. I got the impression that the first staff member I spoke to couldn't care less. The only positive aspect was the park manager, who was incredibly kind.
Short breaks
I've been a loyal customer of this place for over 20 years, but I have to say, the entertainment has really gone downhill. It's such a shame because I love the scenery and the caravans are usually great, but the evening entertainment is just not up to scratch. In the past, we would spend our evenings at the show bar, but now we find ourselves making our own fun in the caravan. Recently, at Little Sea, we decided to give the show a chance since they advertised an illusionist. Let me tell you, it was beyond shocking. I was so disappointed and underwhelmed. This has led me to start looking at other options for short breaks next year. Haven really needs to step up their game and improve the quality of their entertainment.
Haven holidays are the largest holiday provider in Britain, and the best
I come to know they are the best and the largest in here when I ask around. I get to their tours, camping, housestay, holiday homes and lot much in their packages.
They also have a huge range of apartments, caravans, cottages, beach houses or not. It is a living dream to live in such place and enjoy a great week days.
