Weekend away booking
I was so shocked by the terrible customer service we received when we tried to rearrange our cancelled holiday! Before Covid, we had booked a weekend getaway but it got called off, and all we got was a credit note with a fee for cancelling. When we tried to reschedule once the park reopened, they wanted to tack on an additional £100 to the already pricey lodge price. We told them we couldn't afford it, but they were adamant that we had to rebook or lose our money. It just doesn't seem right, especially with everything that's been happening with Covid and money being tight for everyone!
Resort booking
I want to share my recent experience with this company - it was not good at all. I would advise anyone thinking of using their services to think again. Booking a holiday with them was a complete nightmare. The information they gave us was wrong, the customer service was not great, and the prices were way too high. We were told we would have an amazing holiday, but it was just disappointing and annoying. The way this company tricks people made us feel tired and very let down. It was a really terrible experience that I wouldn't want anyone else to go through.
Weekend Stay in Lodge
The lodge was pretty good overall, but there were a couple of small issues like missing cushions, a wine opener, pizza tray and cutter, towels, and two gas rings that weren't working on the hob. Despite these problems, the lodge was nice and cosy. The electricity went off on the first day, but after a quick phone call, it was fixed straight away. It's a shame the weather was rubbish, but all in all, I had a good time and would definitely think about returning.
Platinum lodge stay
During my stay at the Platinum lodge in August, I was quite disappointed with the lack of cleanliness. The hot tub was not clean at all when we got there, it had hair, glitter, and even dead insects in it. The windows were dirty with fingerprints, the carpets were full of crumbs, and to make matters worse, we discovered swimwear left behind by the previous guests in the bathroom. And on top of that, there were dirty pots left in the dishwasher. When I raised these issues with the Site Manager, they just brushed it off and said no one else had complained recently. The fact that they are not addressing these complaints on review sites reflects very poorly on their customer service.
Disappointing experience
I had a really disappointing experience with this company. The staff were so unprofessional and caused me a lot of problems during my time dealing with them. I would definitely recommend against using their services.
Family holiday booking
I recently booked a family holiday package for 2 adults and 2 children with your establishment. I was a bit let down to discover that the pricing wasn't very flexible for single parents or families with elderly relatives. Despite this, I went ahead with the booking. However, upon arrival, I was even more disappointed by the limited options available - only 3-day or 7-day packages, which didn't quite suit my planned 5-day stay. Also, the pool, which was a big reason I chose your place, was closed off on two mornings due to a class, which really affected my overall experience. To top it off, the shower and changing rooms were pretty dirty and cramped, which made my stay even less enjoyable.
Weekend getaway at leisure village
I was at South Lakes Leisure Village for the weekend and can say the lodge itself was fantastic. However, the service at the Lakeside pub/restaurant was absolutely terrible. I had to wait for an hour for service on both Friday and Saturday, and I saw a few families even leave because of the long wait. The food was decent once we finally got it, but overall the service definitely needs some work.
Reservation booking for accommodation
I booked a stay at one of their places back in October and had to raise an issue. But it's been months now and I still haven't heard anything back. When I did manage to get in touch, they told me they were swamped with complaints and the manager had left. It's really frustrating to not have any communication or responsibility taken. I would expect better service from a company that claims to be all about leisure and hospitality.
Holiday home
I would strongly advise against purchasing a holiday home from this company. The salespeople can't be trusted as they make false promises and refuse to put anything in writing, which means they can easily avoid accountability. If you're thinking about selling your holiday home, be aware that they may offer you a tiny fraction of what you paid, while still taking a big cut from the sale. They inflate prices and make it very hard for you to make any profit if you decide to rent out your property. On top of that, they charge fees for bookings, cleaning, and even take a percentage of your rental income, leaving you with very little money left over. You'll also be responsible for any damages or repairs needed. The new owners have already made more improvements in five weeks than the previous owners did in 12 years, showing how little the old owners cared about the site. It's clear that they don't respect their employees either, as they sold a site without even informing them. Make sure to do thorough research and read reviews before considering a purchase from this company.
Cancellation cover issue
This company is absolutely awful! They said they would provide cancellation protection, but now they're refusing to give me a complete refund for my holiday that got cancelled. I had booked it for Easter, and they're telling me I can only get back 20% because they're shut until June. It's completely unfair! I can't choose any other dates to rebook because of my plans for Easter in 2021. I'm really frustrated and let down.
Trip to the centre at Fell End
I popped over to Fell End centre this weekend and had an absolute blast! The staff were all incredibly friendly and really went out of their way to make sure I had a fantastic time, especially Chris, Dawn, Glen, and Oliver. Massive thanks to all of them!
Rats at the caravan park
Oh my goodness, I just have to tell you about my experience at this caravan park, it was honestly the worst! There were rats everywhere, it felt like I was in a horror movie. And the staff were so unfriendly, they didn't even bother trying to assist us. I had to leave early because it was so terrible. I definitely won't be returning there, not in a million years!
Static home stay
So, I stayed at this place for a few nights and let me tell you, the place itself is so lovely! There were loads of walks by the river and in the woods which was really cool. I felt like I was in a fairy tale or something. I even saw bats at night and deer - it was like being in a nature documentary! But when we got to our caravan, I was a bit disappointed. We stayed in a Gold 3 bedroom one and it was kinda small. The decoration was pretty basic and it could have been cleaner, which was a bit of a letdown. And there was hardly any storage space, especially for a big family like mine. Plus, there was absolutely no information in the caravan about the area or the cool walks nearby. How are you supposed to know what to do without that information?
Caravan/lodge purchase
I bought a caravan/lodge recently from this company and to be honest, I'm really not happy with the customer service I got. It seems like all they care about is making money, without really caring about sorting out any problems or worries customers might have.
Dirty showers, miserable staff, declining reputation
The showers were absolutely filthy and the staff looked really miserable. I checked out some other reviews and it seems like this place is going downhill fast. The ones on the main page were terrible - customers getting ripped off, not getting refunds, and spoken to rudely. Pure Leisure Group should be closed down, and the more people report them to trading standards, the better. How can they treat their paying customers so badly? It's just disgraceful.
Stay at Carnforth site
My parents have been going on holiday twice a year for the past 10 years and have spent over £30,000 with Pure Leisure. Recently, my mum got sick and they had to call off their next trip. Even though they had cancellation cover, the company wouldn't give them their money back because it was short notice. My dad, who is getting on a bit, was left in a bit of a pickle. It's not fair that Pure Leisure wouldn't help, especially given how loyal my folks have been all these years. They really dropped the ball on this one.
My recent stay at the leisure group
My time at the leisure group was quite a letdown, really. The customer service wasn't up to scratch and the general vibe wasn't welcoming at all. It felt like they cared more about making money than making sure customers were happy. I was really disappointed and won't be going back anytime soon.
Lodge purchase
We bought a lodge in May, only to find out two weeks later that it had been sold to a different company, resulting in a big increase in park fees. We were promised that any problems with the lodge would be sorted, like replacing carpets and fixing plumbing, but when we asked for these issues to be addressed, there was no response. I have PTSD and lost a leg a few years back, so this lodge was supposed to be a peaceful escape for me. Instead, it has caused a lot of stress and disappointment. The lack of communication and failure to deliver on promises has really taken a toll on my mental health. It's sad to see how little the company cares about its customers' well-being.
