drinks tasted weak and a bit watered down, and the food looked okay but not great. On day three I woke up proper poorly — vomiting, shaking, barely able to stand — and it turned out to be food poisoning. I’m pretty sure it was from the hotel food because I hadn’t eaten anywhere else that day. It was awful: cold sweats, diarrhoea, the lot, and I was stuck in bed for a few days. The hotel did call a doctor and they gave me an injection that helped with the nausea and pain, which I’m grateful for, but I was billed roughly $256 for that visit even though the hotel food caused the illness. I also ended up going to the hospital, which was stressful but thankfully sorted me out. After that I couldn’t stomach eating or drinking much at the hotel, so the all-inclusive felt pointless. Staff were helpful when I was ill — they did respond and arrange medical help quickly, which I appreciate — but the overall place needs investment. If you’re choosing somewhere to relax and actually use the food and drink, I’d be cautious. I’m glad it wasn’t worse and that I recovered, but I wouldn’t go back or recommend eating there.
