swift response when I assumed there’d be queues and silence. We talked through the options, they emailed a full refund confirmation the same day and warned processing might take longer than usual. At first I was sceptical, kept waiting for a hitch, but it's been straightforward so far and I actually feel relieved. Not flawless — timing could be clearer — but the practical outcome matters and they delivered on the main thing: money back, which was really useful.
Surprisingly smooth booking
sceptical. Reviews elsewhere nudged me to take a chance, so I did. Booking was simple. When we arrived I half-expected some confusion, a hidden fee or a hiccup. Instead check-in was straightforward, the hotel treated us like any other guests and the room was already paid for. No surprises. I liked that. The price was decent, not mind-blowing, but fair. I’ll glance at their deals next time. Small hiccups could happen, but this time it was smooth. First impressions were good, friendly staff and a tidy room, nothing flashy.
Wrong dates, poor flexibility
I wouldn’t trust them with a date-specific booking. I found the weekend deal on their website and told my partner straight away, we were actually excited about celebrating our 35th. Problem was the site jumped the calendar to March without me noticing and when I rang Destinia they pretty much said cancel and no refund. I asked if they could nudge the hotel to move us to this weekend — we don’t want money back — but they insisted on cancellation. I phoned the hotel, they said a request could be made, but Destinia didn’t seem bothered. Annoying and disappointing.
