go for it — it’s made a real difference. I stayed with my sister while they fitted a lift over four days and that relief I feel for her is massive. The team arrived when they said they would, worked through the days without faffing about, explained everything clearly (and repeated stuff when needed — which was fine), and left the house tidy every evening. They were polite, seemed experienced and actually cared about getting it right. The lift looks smart, is simple to use, and my sister rings me in the mornings saying how happy she is — which, when you live an hour away, takes a huge weight off your shoulders. It isn’t cheap, but you can tell it’s quality and you’re paying for proper workmanship rather than a quick job. My only small gripe was the temporary disruption during installation, but that’s to be expected and they were respectful of the home. If you’re thinking of this for a relative, see one in person, ask lots of questions and don’t let the price alone put you off. We’re already joking about where else we could have one. A bit emotional to admit, but honestly glad we did this. Also, if you can, try to be there while they’re fitting it — it helps calm any nerves.
Too many calls, but legit
if you don't want calls, either don't leave a number or put "no calls" in the comments and be ready to block; and to the company, please respect opt-outs. All in all, annoyed but relieved it wasn't worse.
SMS kept me calm
Strangely, the bits I remember most are the SMS updates. I booked AirportLift from Nottingham to Birmingham Airport on 20 November and, to be honest, their messaging made the trip feel organised from the off. They sent confirmation, then a driver-en-route note, and even a live GPS link so I could watch the car moving — it sounds a bit OTT but it genuinely calmed me down. Driver arrived about seven minutes early, car was clean and comfortable, ride smooth throughout. There was an accident on the M42, so he used local side roads and avoided the queue — clearly knows the area. Returned on 29 November and the driver phoned after landing, same good communication. Overall practical and straightforward. If you like tracking and clear updates, try them; an app would be handy though.
Half good, half a headache
I needed this lift because my dad, 96 and a stroke survivor, struggles to stand and move between floors. So it wasn’t a luxury — it was essential. The sales team were straightforward at first and gave me what I asked for. Then the price crept up by a grand when someone realised extra plumbing was needed. They knocked £500 off that increase, which helped, but it was an annoying surprise and not brilliant communication.
