The relief came when they confirmed the record wasn’t mine. A bit of a faff at first, but Tony and the other chap dealt with head office calmly and got it cleared quickly.
The toddler test passed
Halfway through planning our Christmas trip from Sweden, I was honestly worried about travelling with a one-year-old and dealing with car hire on top of it. We’ve had slow, slightly stressful handovers elsewhere before. This time it was surprisingly easy. Abdul met us with a smile at both ends, helped without making a fuss, and everything ran on time. That little bit of kindness made a huge difference.
Nearly paid a fortune for a pen and a shrug
the only pen available was the papery innard of a biro, horrible to write with; filling in forms felt like a pantomime. The staff bloke tells me I need to put down a £1,500 insurance deposit despite having booked and paid for premium cover through booking.com. My modest credit card limit was useless to them and they refused my debit card — my dad even offered his card and they said it had to be mine. At that point my doubts were confirmed, so we walked out and went to Enterprise who were calm, sensible and only held £200. Bit of a faff and a waste of time, so nope, not recommending this one.
