    Another year granted, and I’m not convinced

    why did creditors agree? It’s the odd bit, that approval. If you can sack the people who allegedly caused the mess and save on the strange reported pay rates (yes, I’ve seen the mention of a £2 an hour figure), then surely you could realise assets and close things down. That would stop more people getting stuck, simple as that. Instead we get an extension. I’ve seen administrators act sensibly in other cases. This isn’t the same. The administrator’s report points at market drops and interest rates. Maybe those matter. But the decision by financiers to pull funding feels more telling. I was surprised, oddly, by one small positive: an ex-employee contacted a few customers to warn them and to point to a useful document the administrators had posted. It wasn’t much, but it helped. That small bit of clarity was unexpected. Overall, though, the process seems slow and decisions opaque. I can imagine collective legal action being a next step for some. I’m left sceptical about motives and wondering why oversight didn’t prevent this dragging-on. Short, dry verdict: not impressed.

    Bittersweet end to a long rental run

    I needed a car because my lower back’s been rubbish and public transport became impossible — plus we had a small move to sort, so signing up felt sensible. At first it was fine, started with Evezy and then ONTO, deliveries on time, paperwork not too painful. As the years went on though, the service slipped. Responses got slower, and small problems took longer to fix. The real headache came when prices jumped and they hinted cars might be recalled at short notice — that worried me because I literally couldn’t be without a vehicle. I told them I couldn’t afford the new monthly rate and arranged to hand the car back at the end of my term. They organised a collection, which seemed straightforward, but then I suddenly got letters from solicitors about collection fees I’d never been told about. That was the maddening bit — I’d never paid those fees in four years and no one mentioned them when they booked the pick-up. I emailed, phoned, even posted letters, and it felt like being ignored for weeks. In the end I started a small claims process and that finally made someone pick up the phone; I got a partial refund and an apology, not the full tidy ending I’d hoped for, but better than nothing. So yeah, be careful — delivery arrangements and customer service are the weak spots. If they sort those properly, it could be decent, but don’t assume you’ll get the same level of support five years in.

    Strange damage claim after return

    I use the car every day for work and the odd supermarket run, so I know how it looks and what’s normal wear. I cancelled the subscription because the monthly fee kept creeping up and handed the car back two weeks ago. Everything seemed fine at handover, but only today I got a damage report through the post — and it’s a mess. The photos are blurry, you can’t tell scale or depth, and some marks they list as “door contamination” aren’t defined anywhere. They put charges on for a rear door scratch and a quarter panel scratch that look very superficial in the images, if you can call them images. It felt like paperwork dumped on me after the fact rather than a proper check at return.
    I complained and customer service eventually withdrew the claim, so credit where it’s due — they sorted it after I pushed. But getting to that point took time and back-and-forth emails, and the initial contact was slow. The delivery of the inspection report was poor timing and unclear, which caused unnecessary stress. For someone who relies on the car daily it was annoying to have to fight a vague bill. Overall I’m relieved it’s resolved, mildly irritated at the process, and I’ll be more cautious next time about documenting everything at handback.

    the collection driver was calm and handled the handover without fuss, which I didn’t expect. My takeaway is practical. Take time-stamped photos when you hand the car over. Keep proof of payments and all emails. Push back on charges that aren’t evidenced. Don’t assume they’ll sort it straight away.

    A bit of a trap at the end of a decent drive

    I picked up the car on a damp Tuesday and, honestly, it felt fine — comfortable seats, predictable handling, nothing flashy but perfectly usable for daily stuff. Used it for a few months, took it on a couple of long runs, and apart from the usual bits of dirt and a tiny scuff on the bumper from a reluctant supermarket trolley, nothing dramatic. So when I handed it back I wasn’t expecting fireworks. Turns out the fireworks were financial. The post-return inspection showed a list of scratches and dents (some smaller than a fingernail) with a bill attached that made me blink. The photos in their report are little grainy thumbnails — you can’t see detail, you can’t even read if there’s a ruler next to the mark — so it’s impossible to tell if the damage is real or imagined. They won’t let you take a copy of the full report; you can only log in and squint at the miniatures. Helpful, not. I ended up taking my own photos the day I returned it (do that, seriously) and had to chase by email — which mostly went unanswered. Eventually I complained through the industry body and they knocked off some of the fees, but not all. Their defence was that the marks were beyond “fair wear and tear”, which might be true in their rulebook, though that rulebook seems to favour the leasing side of the table (membership-funded organisations aren’t exactly neutral referees). So, useful car for use, irritating end process, and definitely keep your own evidence and patience. Slightly annoyed, slightly amused, would use again but with a very careful final photo session.

    It's really important to be careful when thinking about using this company for hiring a car. They have a reputation for exploiting customers when they bring back the vehicle, charging high fees for damages that are just part of the wear and tear you'd expect from normal use. Also, trying to book a service with them is a nightmare – they might not turn up at all or cancel at the last minute, leaving you feeling annoyed and stuck. And don't even get me started on the sneaky admin fees they add on whenever they send you a letter, which soon mount up to an unreasonable sum.

    My recent car rental experience

    My recent experience renting a car was an absolute disaster. The people I spoke to on the phone seemed like they were just reading from a script and didn't really help me with my specific problem. I need my car for work and going to different places, so when it wouldn't lock, I was really worried about my safety. I asked for a repair appointment and a temporary car, but they said they couldn't do anything for weeks. I even said my car could get stolen, but all they offered was to pay for my bus fare. That was ridiculous because I can't use public transport for my work in the countryside. It took a long time and lots of phone calls before a manager finally agreed to give me another car. But then it was really confusing trying to decide between the new car and my old one. They kept changing what they said about fees and when the car would arrive, which made everything even more confusing and frustrating.     Car rental nightmare

    I had a nightmare experience with my car rental from this company recently. My car conked out towards the end of February and I was left without a car until the end of March, with no replacement or courtesy car given. It was such a hassle - I had to spend countless hours on the phone and make a formal complaint just to get a resolution, which only came in the form of a refund for my monthly rental. This caused a lot of inconvenience and extra costs for my travel needs. And to top it off, when the car was finally fixed, it turned out that the company's tracker was draining the battery because it was plugged in wrongly. This led to another 2 hours of arguments and threats of legal action before I finally got my car back. Dealing with this company has been incredibly stressful and frustrating.

    Subscription car for 5 months

    Don't let the shiny exterior of this company fool you. At first, things seemed to be going well with their service, but as time went on, problems started piling up and the support dwindled. I ended up spending a lot of money with them over 4 years, only to be hit with steep price increases and the threat of my vehicle being repossessed at short notice. When I refused to pay the new, unfair fees, I decided to end my contract with them. Unfortunately, the nightmare didn't stop there. I then received legal threats for collection fees that were never mentioned to me before. Despite my attempts to contact them multiple times, I was completely ignored. Now, I am getting ready to take legal action to recover my costs and expenses. Stay away from this company - unless you enjoy being exploited.

    Avoid using them unless you want to get cheated! I had the car for 6 months and they charged me over £1000 for damages that weren't even there. Completely unfair! They even charged me for the miles the driver used to bring the car back. Absolutely ridiculous! I wouldn't use them again, I recommend trying other companies like wagonex or Elmo instead.
