Oh gosh, that company was absolutely fantastic! The staff were incredibly friendly and really helped us out a lot. Our van was prepared ahead of time, allowing us to head off to Inverness earlier than expected. The van was spotlessly clean and comfortable, and they provided us with all the information we needed. On top of that, they even packed all the bedding for us and gave us a full tank of petrol - it was amazing! The van was only 2 years old and drove so smoothly, we were really impressed. It was also really fuel-efficient, as we only spent 220 quid for the entire trip. We will definitely be using this company again for our next road adventure. It was so great, highly recommend it!
Spaceship Dreamsleeper Mini hire for a holiday from London to France
My experience with Spaceships Rentals was amazing! The contactless pickup and drop off was so convenient and made everything easy. The vehicle itself was really comfortable and had everything we needed, allowing us to plan our own trip through the beautiful French countryside. We visited lots of different places like cities, towns, mountains, and even made it all the way down to St Tropez in the south. There were so many campsites to choose from in the UK and France during the summer, it was really impressive and made our holiday unforgettable. I would definitely recommend Spaceships Rentals to anyone wanting a fantastic and adventurous holiday.
Campervan rental
Hiring a campervan from these guys was great! It was all really easy and quick. I liked that we could do everything without contact but still got great service. We could even change our drop off time and add an extra day with no trouble. The campervan itself was lovely and clean. The bed was comfy and there was loads of storage for our things. The extra equipment like the table, chairs, and cookware came in really useful too. And having 4 gas canisters with the gas stove was a bonus! The tent was a bit small, but it was fine. No hidden fees, just an honest and reliable company. We had an amazing holiday thanks to them.
Easy pick up and drop off
The process of picking up and dropping off the van was really straightforward. They had videos for us to watch beforehand so we knew what to expect. The van we ended up with was a bit on the older side and looked like it had seen better days. The steering wheel was a bit wonky and the anti-roll back feature wasn't functioning properly. There were even some parts of the van held together with tape. However, despite these issues, the van still had some nifty features that gave us a lot of freedom.
Van rental experience
Our experience with renting the van was brilliant overall. The van was reliable and had everything we needed, but we did have a few small issues. We were a bit let down by the lack of proper food preparation tools. It would have been great to have a bigger plastic mixing bowl, a sharper cutting knife, and an extra saucepan. In the end, we had to buy these things ourselves because we both love cooking. Even with that hiccup, we had a great time and thought the price was fair.
Fantastic motorhome rental
The motorhome we hired was absolutely fantastic! It was super comfortable and had all the cool gadgets we needed. There was loads of space to store all our belongings, and the fridge/freezer was massive! We even managed to bake cookies in the oven, how amazing is that? The heating kept us warm on those chilly nights, snuggled up in our cosy motorhome. The only downside was that the hose had a hole in it, so we couldn't have a water fight, and it was a bit short. Also, the mattresses were really firm, like sleeping on bricks. However, overall, we had an incredible time and would definitely rent again!
Family road trip
Our family road trip was really special and something we'll always remember. Renting a vehicle for our adventure added to the excitement and the chosen vehicle was top-notch - comfy, fully equipped, and super clean, giving us a great space to travel in. The staff at the depot in Dublin were fantastic, providing excellent customer service and being really helpful during the rental process. The only downside was the pricing, which we thought was a bit expensive. In general, we'd give our experience a 5-star rating, but we'd appreciate more competitive pricing in the future.
Long weekend motorhome rental
The company gave us excellent service. The motorhome we hired was top-notch and the price was fair, which made it a great choice for our trip to Cornwall. We were impressed by how roomy the motorhome was, even with just 4 of us it felt cozy, although I reckon it could get a bit tight with a full house of 7. The pick-up and drop-off went really well, with all the proper covid safety measures in place. All in all, we had a fantastic time and will for sure think about renting from them again next time we're off on a trip.
Luxury Motorhome rental for 10 days in Scotland
Wow, we had an amazing time renting a Luxury Motorhome for a 10-day road trip around Scotland! It was really comfortable and had all the necessary facilities - loads of storage space, a proper room for the main bed, a fancy kitchen to cook in, and even a separate toilet and shower. The fridge and freezer were a good size as well. By the end of the trip, we were already thinking about our next adventure with Spaceships Rentals. Looking forward to returning to Scotland and renting from them again!
Motorhome booking
Booking the motorhome was a breeze! All I had to do was grab the keys and it was good to go. The staff were so helpful throughout the whole process. Unfortunately, the motorhome had some issues. There was damage in several places - the door separating the bedroom and living area was missing, making it impossible to get some peace and quiet away from the kids. On top of that, the TV wasn't working properly.
Vehicle rental experience
I rented a car for a family trip recently, and it was a bit of a nightmare, to be honest. The engine light came on while we were driving on the motorway, and the car just conked out, leaving us stuck at a service station for over an hour. The staff said it was fine to carry on with the light on, but the problem kept happening every time we tried to go somewhere. It was really worrying, especially with the kids in the car. And to top it off, the back drawer kept opening whenever we went around bends, which was a danger for our stuff.
Campervan rental experience
My experience with the campervan rental had its ups and downs. The pick-up process went smoothly, and the van had everything we needed like bed sheets and kitchenware, which made our road trip stress-free. Driving and parking the van was easy, and having a Caravan and Motorhome Club subscription was a great bonus. However, we faced some problems with the van's engine during the trip, leading to a couple of 10-minute breakdowns. Also, the bed in the van wasn't very comfy, one side even collapsed during the night, affecting our sleep.
Booking cancellation disappointment
I recently had a bit of a nightmare with a booking I made ages ago for a motorhome trip. I got told less than three weeks before my trip that it was cancelled! I had booked it nearly a whole year in advance, so you can imagine how gutted and annoyed I felt. What makes it even worse is that I had recommended Spaceships Rentals to two mates who were joining me on the trip. It just doesn't make sense that they cancelled mine but accepted someone else's booking for the same time period. Their booking system is all over the place and I really wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

The website had great info which made booking really easy. Booking online was quick and simple, and the company got back to us quickly. I liked that we could pick up and drop off contactlessly, giving us flexibility with timing. When we had a problem on the road, they sorted it out quickly and well. The campervan we hired was comfy and had everything we needed.
Online reservation mishap
I had a bit of a rubbish time with an online booking I made for a vehicle rental recently. I went on the website to book an RV for a certain number of days, put in my details, and clicked 'reserve' for the dates and type of vehicle I wanted. Two days later, I confirmed the reservation online and it became a 'booking', where I had to put in my credit card details. But then the company told me that they didn't actually have the vehicle I booked for the dates I wanted. They suggested I either change the vehicle type or pick different dates. I found the whole thing frustrating and a waste of time, as they should have been honest about their availability from the start.
Smooth pick up/drop off
I really didn't like that van, it was really bad. The chair had mould all over it, disgusting! We had to scrub all the pots and pans, yuck! They didn't have any mugs, seriously? How are we meant to have a cup of tea? The electricity went out, so we couldn't charge our gadgets, not great. And the company didn't even apologise properly, definitely not good. I won't be using them again.
Campervan rental comparison
When I compare Spacehips Down Under and Spacehips UK, I have to say my experience with Spacehips Down Under was way better. The customer service and overall experience with Spacehips UK were not great. Spacehips Down Under turned out to be a dependable choice - they were helpful and kept their promises. On the flip side, my experiences with Spacehips UK were disappointing - they didn't follow through on their promises and caused unnecessary problems. So, based on my experience, I would advise others to be careful when dealing with Spacehips UK.
Breakdown on second night
The company is just so unreliable. I had a breakdown on my second night with the campervan and they just left me stranded with no help. Even though I have breakdown cover with them, I had to call and pay for a local mechanic myself. The lack of customer service and communication from Spaceships Rentals was so disappointing and frustrating. Nobody ever got back to me or replied to my emails, so I felt completely alone in a really stressful situation.
