if the barrier’s down and staff are telling you it’s closed, that should count. NCP’s response later was odd too: they insisted the car park was open, blamed us for being in the wrong place and declined any refund or compensation. We went back after the flight and the barriers were still up with a sign saying no access, so yeah, that was frustrating. Financially it stung — roughly £170 for alternative parking plus the £30 booking fee, so over £200 wasted really.
If you’re thinking of using them, maybe double-check by calling and, if you can, leave a backup plan ready. I’m not looking to be dramatic, just fair: booking system worked, but on-the-ground reality and customer support didn’t, and that’s annoying.Relief after a messy start
Stuck at the side of the road, phone on my knee, I realised how small things — like a proper cancellation link — can make or break a day. My car died and the booking confirmation had no phone number, no clear cancellation instructions, nothing. After some digging I found a general number for a company called EnjoyTravel that never appeared in the booking process. It wasn't 24/7 and parking itself had no direct line. I rang the help centre early but got no answer until about 10am; I was told I'd get a callback that never came. At first they said cancellations needed to be made 24 hours before, then changed it to midnight the night before — which wouldn't have helped anyway as lines were closed. Chat didn't go well either; an agent called Nina E. cut the conversation short and wasn't helpful. It was frustrating, felt very unfriendly and time-wasting. The moment I knew I could accept the outcome was when a different adviser eventually offered a partial refund and a credit for next time — not ideal, but better than nothing. If you're using them, screenshot everything and chase up persistently; and I wish they'd just include a cancellation link in the confirmation. Still, once the refund was agreed, I felt the situation was handled reasonably, even if it could be a lot smoother.
