I was halfway down the lane, keys in my pocket and suitcase already on the shuttle, when I realised how odd the whole place felt — not terrifying, just awkwardly scrappy. We used this parking for a two-week holiday because it was the closest option; drop-off was fine, the shuttle is an old van but the driver took us to the airport without fuss. First impressions were “bit rough around the edges” rather than “avoid at all costs”. That relaxed feeling didn’t last on return. We were picked up promptly and the driver was cheerful, which I appreciated, but when we got back to the yard our car was completely boxed in. The next hour was unhelpful theatre. Staff rummaged about looking for keys, then tried other Ford keys they had lying around — yes, really — and when that didn’t work they told us the other customer must have taken their keys by mistake. No real plan, just guessing. Eventually someone suggested fetching a forklift from across the road. They even asked if we wanted a cup of tea while we waited; polite, but a weird comfort in the middle of a practical problem. The forklift lifted the blocking car in a way that looked dodgy, the alarm screamed, and afterwards the car they’d moved seemed to have been shifted roughly — I’d check underneath if it were you. Battery was flat next morning, so who knows what was affected. The service has flashes of friendliness but a worrying lack of organisation and basic procedures for key management and blocked cars. Booking and payment were straightforward enough, prices seemed reasonable for the location, but the execution on return left me uneasy. I probably won’t go back; it works in a basic sense — you park, they shuttle you — but I’d read more reviews and weigh up the risk of ending up boxed in. Small things like keeping better key logs, having a clear plan for blocked cars and not relying on a forklift would make a big difference.
Stopped-worrying moment
the minibus asked for a surprise £14 each for drop-off when we climbed aboard, something not mentioned when I booked, and the promised quick turnaround turned into a series of waits. They said 20 minutes on the phone for our return; it was nearer to 90 before we actually drove off. At one point they swung by Terminal 3 to drop someone else and pick up another car without telling us, which just added to the faff. So yes, I was annoyed, and I was muttering to myself a fair bit. Still, the driver who returned our car was decent — apologetic, friendly, and careful with the keys — and the car was exactly where we left it, no dents, no dramas. That unexpected bit of politeness made a difference. On the downside, the terms and conditions are worrying: they basically absolve themselves of responsibility and even reserve the right to move your car miles away, which doesn't scream "secure". My takeaway and the tip I'd pass on is simple: read the small print and ask directly about any extra drop-off fees before you book. If you're in a rush, don't rely on the advertised 8–23 minute claim; give yourself plenty of spare time. Would I use them again? Maybe, if price and timing were right and I got it all in writing. But next time I'll ask for clarity up front and probably keep expectations modest. It did the job in the end, but it's not a comfortable or particularly trustworthy experience.
