I popped into the Bristol Golf Centre because I needed cash fast — we were moving and my back pain meant I couldn’t do the heavy lifting myself so selling the car felt like the only option. Met Lauren in Room 2 and she checked my Mercedes, said it was worth £1,067 and even said she’d hold that price for four days. I came back the next day and she’d dropped it to £992. She admitted it was a mistake, didn’t really apologise (bit awkward), but to be fair the whole sale was processed quickly and the money was in my account the same day. So yeah, I was annoyed at first, but relieved it got sorted — could’ve been handled better, but at least it wasn’t a total disaster.

It’s not a disaster — I sold the car without drama and the handover was smooth — but it left a sour note because I felt I’d relied on a promise that wasn’t honoured. My takeaway: use them, expect good service, but ask exactly how long an offer is valid and get it in writing if you can. Small flaws aside, it’s a solid option and I’d go back, just slightly wiser this time.
Not worth the hassle, honestly
I wouldn’t use them again. I first saw their ad on one of those comparison sites and even tipped a friend to try them — that’s how convinced I was at first — but the whole thing turned into a proper faff. They did send a couple of emails with a valuation, even upped the offer once which was a pleasant surprise, so I thought fine, this might actually work. Then the appointment circus began. He rang tech support on loudspeaker and I end up overhearing someone suggest the problem was “wrong details” — even though I’d had two emails with the correct info. I said so, politely, but you could tell they weren’t convinced. After that they start telling me the best they can do is a really low offer because “the system” won’t play ball. It felt like being blamed for their nonsense and then punished for it. The one nice bit was that earlier email increase — that unexpected bump actually made me think they were decent — and the guy I spoke to while waiting was not rude, just clearly hamstrung by poor systems. Still, overall it was shambolic, slow and irritating, and I’d warn mates to avoid wasting time on them unless you like stress and mixed messages.
A practical outcome, after doubts
