By the time we opened the box, the cake had clearly had a rough trip. The design was squashed on one side, which was frustrating as it was meant for a small lunch after I’d been dealing with a stressful move. Taste-wise, it was actually nice, so it was a shame. I sent a photo and was offered a replacement, which seemed fair. I asked whether it could arrive in the morning because we needed it at lunchtime. After that, nothing. No reply to the message, no replacement cake, and my follow-up email after the event was ignored too. Maybe something went wrong their end, but I was left sorting it out with no answer at all. That was the disappointing bit, really.
