Sat on the sofa, sore back so couldn't pop to the shop, I ordered the case as a cheap fix. I was sceptical — expected rubbish — and yes three bottles were just OK, one was flat. Then surprisingly one bottle actually impressed during dinner, so I felt relieved, a bit pleased, not thrilled though.
Slightly bonkers delivery saga
I first noticed their Christmas offer when a mate sent me a screenshot — sounded like a laugh so I ordered a case to have ready for guests. We were away over the holiday and, surprise, it didn’t arrive while we were gone. I messaged them and, fair play, they sorted it quickly enough and left two boxes at the door. In my head that meant six bottles per box (12 total) and I didn’t check straight away — classic. When I finally opened them I realised each box actually held 12 bottles, not six, so I was staring at twice the wine I expected. I emailed twice asking what they wanted me to do, and mostly got radio silence. Figured they’d given up and, slightly embarrassed, I gifted a box to a friend for Christmas. Come January I get an email demanding collection or payment, a few more emails with a bit of an accusatory tone (as if I’d pinched their stock) and requests to ring up with card details. I didn’t fancy reading my card number out loud, so I reluctantly added it to their site to clear it up — awkward but then it did stop the back-and-forth. It was unnerving at times, with poor replies, but in the end it was resolved without drama. Bit of a rollercoaster, but no one ended up sleeping under the stairs, so I’d say lesson learned and, grudgingly, I’m satisfied.
