I nearly didn't buy these — I had that nagging worry that the delivery would turn up battered, and I was short on time because I needed the boards for a decking job at home, weekend deadline. When the van arrived some boards were scuffed and one had a gouge, so I phoned. It took a few calls and a week, but they replaced the worst pieces and gave a refund. It was annoying, I lost time fitting around damaged bits, but in the end they fixed the main issue, so I'm glad I stuck with it.
Boards looked fine then split
I bought just over £2,000 of composite decking and used it straight away. At first it felt solid underfoot but after about a year six boards started to split along the joins. Customer services quickly pointed to "incorrect installation" and told me gaps of 8–15mm were needed at butt joins — which, I mean, basically admits the boards move with the seasons. They did send six replacements after ages of emails, but the colour was noticeably different; they said the originals had faded. Feels like a recurring excuse. I've had better honesty from other suppliers, so I won't be buying from them again.
Little victory on the deck
the boards expand in heat and leave little gaps, but a quick adjustment sorts it. Only gripe is the delivery cost — steep, a bit daft really. Overall, pleased once I put the elbow grease in and made a couple of tweaks.
Quietly disappointed
I bought decking for the garden because we needed to replace some rotten boards and my husband had taken a day off to crack on with it. Delivery showed up but with someone else’s screws — we only spotted it after about 15 minutes. The driver said he couldn't come back and they'd send screws by DPD the next day. Customer service phoned him and basically told us the same, which was annoying (he'd booked the day off, so that mattered). The screws did arrive and we finished the job, but they're clearly cheap and a few stripped when we drove them in. I'm sceptical they'll last, yet the decking itself looks fine for now and the job got done. Not thrilled, but not disaster either — minor hassle overall, but it did the job.
A bit of a rollercoaster
“we can’t advise, refer to the email,” which drove me a bit mad. It finally arrived three days late, so yes, I lost a day and paid for a labourer who couldn’t work — annoying and avoidable. But, weirdly, the moment I knew I was actually happy was when it was fitted and we started using it: the finish is nicer than I expected, everything feels solid, and little things — like smoother handles and a decent fit — made me grin. The customer service felt brusque and could be much clearer, a proper ETA or a text would’ve saved me money and stress, but the product itself surprised me in a good way and now it’s part of the daily routine. So mixed feelings: poor communication, but pleased with the end result.
