I paid for a proper ergonomic chair at the start of November because my back’s been killing me since the move — needed it, like yesterday. They rang the alarm that it was out of stock but reassured me I was a priority when it came back, and gave a couple of shipping dates. I chased, got another date, then… silence. No shipping email, nil. Honestly I was a bit cross and half convinced I’d been ghosted. After a few grumpy messages they did sort a full refund, which was fair and quick in the end. Not great service, but at least I didn’t lose my cash.
Proper comfy, no fuss
Sinking back and actually feeling supported was a surprise. The Hinomi H1 Classic V3 adjusts in so many ways — tilt, recline, height, the lot. I mostly use the 146° lay-back for reading or zoning out, and my lower back has stopped nagging me after long days. The fabric and padding feel solid, not too firm, not floppy. It's easy to tweak, though I did fiddle a bit at first. Customer service were decent too; they answered my questions within a day or two. I've had dodgy seats from other brands that went flat quickly, so this feels like a step up. I'm waiting on a V2 headrest and will probably order another for my wife. Pretty pleased overall.
That moment it all clicked
the neck support barely worked and there’s no useful way to adjust it. I didn’t want to faff with boxing it up and shipping it across Europe straight away, so I tried to live with it for a bit, hoping I’d get used to it. I didn’t. A few months later they quietly launched a version 2 with a completely different neck rest. That was the moment it clicked for me — not the “yay, fixed” kind of click, but the “ah, so it was a design miss all along” kind of click. I was almost satisfied then, strangely, because it confirmed what I’d been feeling: the early model was flawed and early backers got left with it. I reached out to customer support, explained the problem and referenced the new design, and they weren’t keen to replace or repair for free — basically a shrug and no easy solution. I told a mate who’d been eyeing one and he walked away; I also flagged it in a forum so others wouldn’t waste time the way I did. There’s a bit of enthusiasm left — the chair itself has potential, and the new neck rest looks sensible — but that doesn’t change the fact I expected better after supporting a brand early. If you’re thinking about ordering, ask about returns and upgrades up front. I won’t be recommending Hinomi to friends who want a reliable purchase; too risky for now.
