They sit comfortably and feel sturdier than our old pair. Bit bulky, maybe, but the kids wear them without fuss.
Still waiting, still no refund
I would avoid this shop, frankly. I needed earplugs because my flat is noisy at night, but nearly six weeks after ordering, nothing has turned up. The parcel was apparently sent twice, yet neither delivery happened. Emails do get answered eventually, though far too slowly, and I’m still being refused a refund. It’s been a pretty draining experience for something so simple.
Finally, some quiet at bedtime
I wasn’t convinced these would be any different, to be honest. My hearing isn’t great, so the telly ends up louder than I realise, and my wife was fed up trying to sleep through it. She’d already tried a couple of similar things with no luck. These actually do the job though. She says they’re comfortable and blocks enough sound without being a faff. Bit of a relief, really.
Quick arrival, poor result
After one too many rides with my ears ringing like a kettle, I ordered the MotoSafe pair hoping for a bit of peace. Delivery was quick, fair enough, but the plugs simply didn’t do much for me. My son tried them too and got the same result, so it wasn’t just my apparently ‘non-standard’ ears. Customer service replied, but suggesting our ears were the issue felt a bit like blaming the road for a flat tyre. At €30, I’m disappointed. Glad it arrived easily, though; shame the actual product didn’t earn its keep.
Sceptical at first, sorted in the end
I needed this quickly after moving house, as my old one had finally given up. The first item seemed faulty, so I expected a real hassle after a bad experience with another seller. Delivery was prompt though, and once I got through to customer service they actually explained the Amazon process properly and helped arrange a replacement. A bit confusing at first, but it ended better than expected.
Surprisingly comfy little lifesavers
I first spotted these on a student forum and my flatmate kept saying I should try them, so I ordered on a bit of a whim. I admit I was sceptical — I’d lived with those orange foam plugs that bulge out after an hour — but these Alpine Sleep Soft are actually really different. They mould to the ear, don’t jab my skin and, crucially, they stay put so I can nap between revision bursts. The tiny plastic case and the cleaning stick are a bit of a nice extra, not essential but handy if you chuck them in your bag. My only small moan was the delivery — took about five days and I was a bit anxious before my exams — but otherwise very pleased. I’ve already tipped a couple of mates and my flatmate bought a pair too.
Too fiddly for long rides
these aren’t great if you want proper, comfortable wind-noise protection. I bought the Race version and used them over the past few months on commuting and a couple of longer motorway stints. At first they felt promising — soft, mouldable material, seemed like they’d sit nicely. In practice you can push them just inside the ear so they don’t fall out, but that barely cuts wind noise. To actually reduce noise they need to be shoved right in, and that’s awkward because the little red stem you’re meant to use is floppy too. Get them deep enough and they do work, but then your ears get sore after a while — not ideal for anything over an hour. I tried contacting the manufacturer via their website and even phoned, but got nowhere: no reply and endless hold music. So, usability is fiddly, comfort drops with proper insertion, and support was non-existent for me. They’ll do for short trips if you don’t mind the discomfort, but I wouldn’t rely on them for long rides or expect any help if something goes wrong.
