the camera's mount only tilts up and down so you sometimes end up with a sideways image that won't rotate, which is annoying, and it constantly nags about needing a 4G data plan to actually use remote features. Still, the solar panel keeps it running and the battery life impressed me. For what I paid it does the main job well, even if you have to accept a couple of fiddly bits and the hidden subscription caveat.
A bit of a let-down
decent image, nice build — actually better than I expected. Delivery arrived on time, packaging was tidy, so I was happy at first. Then the problems started: customer service went quiet, emails slowed then stopped, and when they eventually replied it was to tell me to send the whole unit back and pay $40 before they'd send a replacement. Felt really off, especially as they used to replace faults under warranty years ago. I'm mildly annoyed but not furious — camera itself is okay, service and the delivery follow-up need serious work. For now I won't be recommending them.
Not ideal, but actually useful
surprisingly, I'm glad it didn't stay broken. I got this trail cam as a present and by luck it took photos on day one, then went quiet. I rang product support — they asked me to format the SD. I had already done that, and the same card worked fine in a Muddy camera, so that was odd. Support then asked for an Amazon order number; bit awkward because it was a gift and I didn't have one. They even suggested buying another camera and leaving a review so they'd refund me. That felt wrong, I mean who does that? Anyhow, after a bit of poking around I tried a different Class 10 microSD and a firmware update (found on a forum), and suddenly it started behaving. Now it's in the garden most days, catching foxes, squirrels and the cat's dramatic midnight strolls. I'm actually pleased it works — I enjoy those little glimpses of wildlife — and a smidge grateful I bothered to keep going. Would I recommend without caveats? Nope, but if you're handy it can be made useful.
Box said camera, everything else said no
glad I spotted the problems early — this was not a normal purchase. The outer box literally just said "camera" and then nothing else, no Campark name on the box, on the unit, on any paperwork. Looked a bit like a 3D-printed shell, to be honest. I rang customer service and they refused a refund, asked me to post it back. I paid for a return label and UPS then said the address they'd given was undeliverable. I told the seller and they admitted the address was wrong and wanted me to pay again to a different address. I won't do that. It's been a month of chasing, extra costs and lots of vague excuses. So, lesson learnt — check photos, keep every receipt and insist on tracked returns and a clear refund policy before you buy. Annoying, yes, but at least I'm more careful now. If you're buying, be wary and don't hand over cash until you're happy.
Sun, rust and a very odd warranty chat
irritation.
To be fair, delivery itself was fine — came when they said it would and the packaging wasn’t wrecked — so tick for that. But the customer service felt like a loop of “not our problem” and a lack of willingness to honour a basic warranty. If you’re considering this, be wary: you might get a product that works and arrives on time, but if it goes wrong be prepared to argue, escalate, or spend for a replacement. My advice: take photos, insist on a proper RMA, and don’t rely on friendly-sounding eBay usernames to mean anything.Quietly useful, annoyingly unsupported
delivery was straightforward — arrived in good condition, on the date the retailer quoted, nicely packed. No dramas there, really. The bother came when I wanted to use the app features and a remote. The manual is basic and didn’t cover a couple of operational bits I wanted to know, mainly whether Bluetooth is actually supported on this model and how to pair it. The app suggests pairing should be possible, but my phone never saw the device as a Bluetooth unit. Simple check, nothing fancy. I emailed Campark Support with two clear questions and then spent a few days going back and forth. Their replies were vague, often sidestepping the actual question (I got a lot of “we don’t manufacture” and “we don’t sell” lines instead of a direct yes/no about Bluetooth). On the remote I was told I could buy one elsewhere but not given any pointers, then later reminded that they weren’t the manufacturer and couldn’t help because I hadn’t bought from them direct. Which felt odd — if you’re providing support for a product you attach your name to, you could at least say which remotes are compatible or confirm a feature. To be fair, the person I corresponded with was polite, but polite and unhelpful are two different things. So my takeaway: good hardware for the money, delivery was fine, but customer support is hit-and-miss and in practice unhelpful if your purchase wasn’t direct. If you’re comfortable with muddling through the manual and don’t expect much from support, you’ll be fine. If you want reliable aftercare, look elsewhere.
