A soggy surprise on the doorstep 15 June 2026

I was halfway through making a cuppa when I spotted something weird in the shrubs — turned out to be the present I’d ordered, soaked and half-hidden like it was trying to escape. It’s odd, because in the past this company was fine; parcels arrived, everything worked. Not this time. The courier just left the box on the wet ground outside my front door, no signature, nothing — and then the company considers that “delivered”. I sent a photo straight away (yes, the soggy, incriminating photo) and reported it missing on day one, but it’s taken ages to get anything useful back. Their website says you’ll hear within 12 hours; well, that’s laughable — my first email went more than a week without a reply. After that they finally replied, but responses were slow and didn’t really help, and the so-called investigation ended with them stubbornly saying it had been left in a “safe place”. Safe? If it were safe, I’d have had it dry and in my hands. Because of the delay I had to buy another gift elsewhere — awkward and annoying at this time of year. I asked for a replacement and that didn’t happen either, so I’ve requested a full refund and ideally not to deal with them again. To be fair, when orders do arrive properly the products have been fine in my experience, which makes this all the more frustrating. A decent company would have sorted it quicker, sorted the courier out and not left a customer without a present. Not perfect, not even close this time, but the stuff itself was okay before — shame about the delivery and the slow replies.
